Show us ANY statistics regarding civ. Any at all. Other than sales I don't believe there are any.

It's all opinion and playstyle. If you win with the Zulus, good on ya mate.

For starters, I said "among the worst". I'd have to think for a moment to see if its the worst.

I can give you plenty of anecdotal data, but statistical data is harder. I could just do a poll and see what the results are, but its not exactly scientifically done.

Julius got Imperialistic and Organized. Good for expansion. Augustus got Creative and Organized. Also good for expansion, though in different way

Also, note that they have reduced the xp bonus from barracks - they now only give +3 xp (probably to prevent Charismatic leader's from generating 2 advance troops out of the block).

Also, Also note that they have introduced the Stable (available with Horseback Riding) which gives +2 xp to mounted troops built in the city. I do not know if you need to have a barracks in order to build a Stable. It does appear that Aggressive leaders will get the production bonus to build Stables. The Mongolian Ger replaces the Stable and gives +4 xp.

          Here:

97% of all people who play civ3 say Zulu is the worst. But I refuse to give you the source of this information.

:People, people. All I am saying is if you "dis" a civilization please have the data to back it up, as usually personal opinions only form part of a broader perspective on how the zulu - and for any civilization actually are regarded as being playable or not.

Settle down, I thought it was clear it was a joke. I simply made up a number. 97% sounds better then 98, 99, and 100%. There might be a poll what is the best, or what is the worst civilization in the Civ3 forum.

I never really tried to rate the civs (I tend to like Egypt and C3C's Celts, though). Most of my opinions of which are considered the best and worst civs are based on a lot of comments people have made in the three years I've been at Apolyton, CFC, CDG, etc. Its completely annecdotal, not statistical or scientific (its like saying "I heard a story about a college preventing a student from enrolling because, after being accepted, they failed all their classes." It proves it happened, but, unless I take a simple random sample of every single application (at least the ones where a student's GPA dropped) and check the percentage of those who had their acceptance taken back, I can't show that it is the college's policy. But it is based on three years of experience, not my personal opinion.

BTW, I just got my score back for AP Statistics. After thinking I would probably score a two (maybe a three if I was lucky) I got a four, so I'm thrilled (does it show? ).

I could post a poll if you want, but it wouldn't be a scientific poll either. First off, its biased based on the fact that it isn't random. Second, its biased because its so long after civ3 came out (experienced players have moved on and might not check civ3 forums). But, if it makes you happy, I will post two polls (one here, one at CFC) and see what the results will be. I would be thrilled if the Zulu are even in the top half of civs.

EDIT: There are only 24 options here and 20 at CFC and its 12:10 here, so I'll deal with this tomorrow

                    Apolyton's Civ3 section is a ghost town...

: Yeah I noticed that too, really sad though. Looks like civ3 is only a mere word inside the minds of civ4 players world wide.

                      :
:And if you think civ3 apolyton section is a ghost town, you should try playing civ3 on multiplayer.

I've already run into this particular problem. If you'd like to consolidate polls there's already one out there for the "best" civ leader ( http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=153064 )

Maybe you can use this to help refine your poll.

I also find polls asking for the "best" are easier to form and reply to. The "worst" is rather negative and no one likes to be seen throwing stones.

I decided to ask for best (the plan is to make a final poll with the top vote getters of both polls). But, if I don't get more votes at Apolyton, I'll have to rely only on the CFC votes (there's a decent number over there).

Here are the first two round threads at CFC

OK, I know this has been done before, but, because of a request, I'm doing it again. Since there aren't enough options, I've divided the poll in half. Vote for your 5 favorite civs in this poll and 5 favorites in the other poll. I'll take the winners (probably 8 from each) and face them...

Here is the second part of the vote. Vote for your 5 favorite civs in this thread and 5 favorite in the other thread. This poll will last for 3 days :)

Out of all the votes, the Zulu recieved the least (the Aztecs, India, and Inca also recieved low votes).

There is still a final round to determine the one people like the best, so please vote

OK, the vote is done and I'm at the final round. Germany and Japan tied and, since I'm too lazy to do a tie-breaker, they both get to advance. Out of the remaining civs, vote for your favorite (or the best, however you want to vote). I'll let you pick more than one, just don't pick too many. ;)

BTW, I don't know if I would necessarily consider the Zulu the very worst civ, it just ended up voting that way.

: Isn't funny? That out of all this voting the Zulu recieved the least votes? Better yet, I suppose when Civ4 warlords arrive the Zulu would most likely be "spat-on", with a label like "not-worth-selecting".
