Of course, but I doubt Firaxis won't try. I hope they will postpone it as much as they can within the limits given by 2k, if neccessary.

I would expect it to be similar to your Daimyo unit in the C3C Japan scenario. It would be powerful but not a juggernaut by itself, and it would get some unique upgrades of its own. Perhaps it also starts with Medic II and all units stacked with it get automatic Combat I (or act like Combat II, etc. if they already have said upgrade)?

        Please explain the Daimyo unit.

A powerful unit whom, if killed, results in your losing the game.

I believe it started at 4/4/1, and was upgradeable to 12/12/1 or something. I forget.

            First screenshots are here:

So it looks like Augustus, Stalin and Churchill(?) will be new leaders, as well as Menes or some other Egyptian pharaoh. I approve of those choices (esp. since that implies a WWII scenario ) Makes me wonder how many new leaders there will be though, since none of those represent any of the 6 new civs...

Here is an old developer update for C3C that talks about the Japan scenario. Scroll down to the section "Lord, Liege, and Lackey" where it talks about the Daimyo.

                Wow... nice screenshots .

Augustus is nice. Stalin & Churchill may be regular leaders, but may also be only selectable/playable in a WW2 scenario (though if they are in a scen, I don't see any reason not to make them in the regular game).

I wonder if the gameplay screenshots are to demonstrate new units? One (the English screenshot on Gamespot) seems to show new archery units. The other (Roman screenshot above and on Gamespot) seem to show slingshot hurlers).

I was wondering about those slingshot hurlers. It looks like there's going to be a wide variety of ranged units in the early game.

Nice to see the Trebuchet come back. The game definitely needed something between Catapults and Cannon.

The English screenie is interesting too:

Seems like the archers are different based on Civ (even though they all have the English flag here)... or are the different looks/colors a certain addition to the basic archer?

There seems to be 4 different types of archers there.

Well if they have done a WWII scenario (which would be literally awesome!) I hope they have done a Hitler leaderhead ....

I am most definitely not a fan of the real man but to have him modelled into civ complete with a leaderhead would make for some incredible, perhaps completely unprecedented gaming fun ....

Just imagine if you have randomly generated civs and Germany gets Hitler! Worries about erratic Montezuma behavior will be quickly forgotten... and replaced with the evil, psychotic, unreasonable, always attack at the worst moment Hitler.

                              Great news!
I never expected the EP to be released that soon!
I hope Firaxis doens't only focus on new leaders / new civs / new units, and all those things that fans can mod into the game themselves as well.

They should focus on totally new concepts
