    Yes, that should be possible.

    It's not guaranteed though.

Don't worry to much about it, it should be made clear with the arrival of the patch wether old saves will be compatible or not.
At worst, you could finish your current game before installing the patch.

Interesting and thank you for this.

Are you able to provide a link to where this is stated?

Not one that's available to the general public. You'll just have to trust Solver's word on that, he has inside info. Note the Civ 4 beta tester line in his sig.

                  Said previously by me: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...86#post4312286

BTW, Willem: do not forget that beta testers do not go around stating inside info in the public, or even what kind of inside info they have .

Well it's a safe bet that you're going to know something since you've been involved with the game for quite some time now, even before it was put on the market. Not to mention your role here at Apolyton. It doesn't hurt to give some sort of reassurance to the general player that something will be available soon. It has been longer than expected after all, especially the SDK. Even Soren has come out and left a post over at CivFanatics a short while ago about the issue. People are getting impatient, a glimmer of hope wouldn't hurt.

So this is what Soren had to say about the issue over at CivFanatics, in case anyone missed it.

It's coming soon... we wish we could announce a date, but we are trying to get it out as fast as possible. There is a lot in this patch (like the offical PitBoss and the SDK), it is taking longer than we anticipated.

He can't do that Willem, in fact, I don't think even Soren can (officialy).

As Solver has said, it should be here soon and that's about all one can expect from him.

If your game is Single Payer, yes you can play half of it pre-patch and the other half post-patch.

I do note that on the previous patch that if you were past a certain date, the year went back in time because the previous patch added turns. The changes to the xmls took affect immediately as well. (If you had 1400 science beakers towards a tech that cost 1500 in the old version and now costs 1800, you now have 300 more beakers to reserach to finish that tech and not 100.)

Please,is it possible or not?My thanks in advance.

Well he did in that post I quoted.

As Solver has said, it should be here soon and that's about all one can expect from him.
Exactly, and that's what I was trying to point out. No one can predict when a patch will be ready, there might be some last minute issues that pop up. But if both Soren and Solver say it will be here soon, then it shouldn't take much longer.

You can't actually be sure of that until the patch is released. There might have been some changes to the basic code that will make previous saves obsolete.
