  • Culture bonuses for multiple Cathedrals

The 50% bonus to culture for building a cathedral.....

    Do they stack?

Ie, is there any point to building more than one type of Cathedral in the same city? Can you get a 350% culture bonus by building all of the cathedrals?

The stack, in an additive way, not multiplicative.
So indeed2 Cathedrals is +100% culture.

Broadcast towers etc. also stack with this.

      1. Yes.

      2. Is there any earthly reason you couldn't have found out for yourself? Just build a second cathedral and check the culture rate.

        Well, smartass.

I could have built a cathedral, but being that you are limited to one per 4 temples, I could have just wasted one, and really I just wanted a quick answer, which these forums are in existance for, no?

But thanks for the time and effort of your rather witty and insightful reply.

That's what save games are for... if it turns out you screwed up your game, load the save. I have no problem answering questions on things that are somewhat confusing or hard to figure out, I've done it many times here and on other boards, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for someone who refuses to make the slightest effort to figure it out on their own when the means to answer the question is right in front of their face.

            Oh dear.........

Like I really care if you have a problem answering my question, or not having any sympathy for me. I am not even sure why I am even trying to justify myself to you. Perhaps I am bored and have nothing else better to do.

I just wanted a quick answer to a simple question. I only save when I finish playing, not after every turn in case I screw something up.

Why did you even bother posting? Ill tell you why. Its because you are a bit of a **** who thinks you can belittle someone. Well, looking at some of you posts on this board, you are hardly a civ wizard, are you.

If you havent got anything nice to say, try not saying anything at all, or get a life. Because you stupid comments do nothing but show yourself up

              For the love of god...
gilfan tells you to find out for yourself.
(IMHO, that's what the Worldbuilder is for, not what Savegames are for )
gilfan has no sympathy for people who use these boards as their answering service, and you think that this board exists (in part) for quick answers.
So you two don't support each other. No big deal, right?

However, I have no sympathy for folks who get pissy because somebody doesn't like them, and disrespect for folks who would take the effort to defend their questions, but not take the effort to answer their own questions in the first place.
I also have no sympathy for idiots who make excuses using buzzwords to try to justify why they've been emotionally hurt - I call these people Emotionally Immature.

Like I really care if you have a problem answering my question, or not having any sympathy for me. I am not even sure why I am even trying to justify myself to you. Perhaps I am bored and have nothing else better to do.
... Because you're a young person starving for validation? It's a teenage thing, I went through it, and I understand.
However, Apolyton judges people more on maturity than on what's popular at the time, so it's okay to express your feelings honestly here: "Cut me some slack. I only wanted an easy answer, not to pick a fight."

I just wanted a quick answer to a simple question.
... And you got it. The rest of your comments relate to you wanting positive emotional relationships with people online, and you should know that throwing tantrums tends to hurt that somewhat.

I only save when I finish playing, not after every turn in case I screw something up.
Then perhaps you should make a save before you test something?
              Adapt to the situations.

Why did you even bother posting? Ill tell you why. Its because you are a bit of a **** who thinks you can belittle someone. Well, looking at some of you posts on this board, you are hardly a civ wizard, are you.
First, grammarcheck and spellcheck so we don't laugh your points off as being from an uneducated AOLer.
Second, He posted to support his point of view: That people should find things out for themselves.
He didn't belittle you, either - he said he doesn't sympathise with you. You belittled yourself since he didn't appreciate you.
FYI, if you think someone is a **** because they say something that offends you, and that they shouldn't have the right to do such, then you're out of place in Real Life.
There are people who won't like you, and times when you'll be hurt. Stop crying and deal with it in a non-offensive way, and you'll be improved as a person.
Oh, and please... you're counter-insulting him (not a civ wizard) after you hurt your own bloody feelings because you're starved for attention and he didn't react all friendlily to your call for attention?
Pssht. Start conflict when you have a -goal-, grasshopper, not because you're a flamin' lunatic.

If you havent got anything nice to say, try not saying anything at all, or get a life. Because you stupid comments do nothing but show yourself up
Hmph. Personal hate of mine, the "only say nice things" jig.
The people who tout about the "only say nice things" motto are those that can't deal with derision, scorn, insults and the like.
They tout their motto like it is Moral and Virtuous, but all they're trying to do is save themselves from emotional hurt.
I know -they- believe it's right, but -I- don't, so I have no need to follow their virtues (In fact, I enjoy standing them up and annoying them further, to prove their values don't work )
If you can't take harsh words, then stop talking to anyone, and stick your dogma up your arse. You deserve to be hurt if you need to use a Slogan to shield your emotions from commoners.

"Get a life" - He has a life. Perhaps you mean to say "Follow my life". This would make more sense, as you expect him to follow your social norms and not upset you.
Of course, he enjoys his life more than yours (hence why he's not following it already), and will simply tell you to **** off.
You think people are inferior because they won't follow your way of life?
I think you're inferior because you think your way of life is the only best way to live life. Screw life, Get Life Experience.

His stupid comments seem to cause you to enter a flamey immature tantrum, and call me in to slap your feelings around a bit with a large trout.

If you don't have a natural passion for something, you can never kick butt in it.
Thankfully, I have a natural passion for written (and other forms of) conflict, a natural passion for understanding the human condition, and have developed a sense of humour in regards to those predictable, silly, haplessly ignorant squishy pink things we call "people".

The only other trait I'd need to be a master troller is a natural talent at diplomacy and manipulation - which I lack. But I'm getting experience!

EDIT: I sure do talk about myself a lot.

As for the building 2 cathedrals and checking - the online info in Civ 4 is next to nothing. You get something like "+72.5% from buildings" etc.
And as for a loading a game if you don't like to result - I hate to load a Civ 4 game, because it takes 3-4 minuts a game to load.
