  • 1) The conquistador and the explorer have the same unit portrait.

    2) Placing any terrain in the editor causes about a 2 second hang on my machine per tile placed.

    • Crashes often

Had no problems installing. Had no problems playing, until I started using World Builder. I'm not sure if it's a world builder problem, just noticed it after using it a few times. I have a huge map with lots of cities on it. After an hour or so (sometimes less) of playing, the game really starts to bog down. Then it will either crash to the desktop or reboot my computer with no warning. Anyone else run into this after using the world builder?

      • Major Bug, Cant win Space Race due to "Build a Cockpit" gray out, all my city dont build at that, At first it's worked but cost me 30 turn so I changed to other building, that's when it's gray out forever.

I'm pretty sure that's just a case of the production being "saved" in the original city and you need to cash the hammers in before it will let you start over in a new city.

I posted that at more length in the thread you made.

Would certainly be NICE if the game told us when we had an instance of a wonder/SS component saved in one city when trying to start it in another, though. I've run into that a few times when making national units (missionaries and spies) where I forgot which city had started the last one.

          • - Minor issues such as Civilopedia/Mainmenu buttons disappearing when exiting city mode, etc.

            - MAJOR bug with negotiating peace (at least, in noble difficulty). You can put everything your enemy has on the negotiating table, and click the 2nd option for "let's bury the hatchet and negotiate a peace" (ie. are these terms acceptable option). A pop-up will say something about negotiating in peace-time, but your enemy civ won't change the deal and just offer it back. Afterwards, you're free to accept it with no reprocussions.

            - Not really a bug, but if one city is working a tile that happens to be in another city's radius, the 2nd city would simply see it as darkened -- which is the same color as the tiles you can't reach, so you can accidentally click on it to free up the tile, but mistakenly take off the worker in the first city. It's confusing sometimes, especially when learning a new interface. Maybe another color would be helpful?

            • crash on wonder or buildings being built. Hang at game creation forcing me to listen too far too much of spock over and over...rarely any music. Sounds in game often occur before the actual event. Often hangs when going to advisor screen

              • I just noticed this bug (just before I won the space race):

I've never seen it before... (has this been mentioned?)
This space is empty... or is it?

                • I don't know if anyone has encountered this. Basically quite often when a Gunship is in open terrain, only the rotors are visible, and the rest of body disappears!

                  I have the following specs:
                  Pentium M 1.7GHz
                  512MB RAM
Nvidia Fx Go 5200 with 64MB RAM
                  Win XP SP2

I attach a screenshot of this where a chopper in open terrain is invisible, while the one in a city is fine.

I had similar issues. For now, I've just TURNED OFF all of the movies and as many of the graphical options as I can. They cause little but aggravation.

Perhaps some of this stuff will get patched.

                      • The graphics for ground units attacking from transport ships seem intermittently buggy. At various times, my Mech Inf and/or Marines are not visible when attacking coastal cities from the sea. The worst I saw was when I attacked a maceman with a marine--not only was the marine invisible, but the maceman proceeded to do its "run into battle" animation, but it didn't stop until it was about four squares south, off the screen.

                        Sorry, didn't catch a screenshot.

                        • Minor bug (or maybe a feature - see later)

Completed a city (call it XX) the same turn as a worker conpleted a road linking my capital city to a cornfield, and I got the "congratulations - you have connected 2 cities and can now share resources, etc"

(ie wrong message per the event)

Unless ..... I am playing as Spain (fishing comes as an inherent tech) and both cities were on the same coastline, so maybe they were getting connected by sea? --- but I didn't get that message when founding subseqent cities along the coast, which leads me to suspect a labeling bug.

                          • There's definitely something wrong with the naming of civ leaders in multiplayer.

In a PBEM game, one player was renamed to the name of my computer (and thusly, my "default" name, it seems).

I started a single player game today, after playing a TCP/IP game last night with my friend, who was playing England. England showed up in this random SP game, and their leader was renamed "Ayronis".
"I've lived too long with pain. I won't know who I am without it. We have to leave this place, I am almost happy here."

                            • Great People

                              Hi all -
I've used two (2) great scientists to give me a new technology. First was Education and the next was Chemistry. Each time, the box shows that this is the Tech that will be provided.
The first time it happened, I wasn't paying much attention, until I had to spend two (2) rounds to get Education. So this last time, I made sure to save the game before using the GS, and then played an additional two (2) rounds and still no Chemistry. I looked at my Science advisor and its not green. So at this point, I'm using my GS to build a science center.

On a related note, and it just came to me. I had Homer build a 6000 point bonus culture. What is supposed to happen when that is done? After creating his epic "nothing" I did not see any bonus. The city in which I spent him, has lots of culture, but certainly not 6000.

Thank you for RELGION. Damn, that adds such another aspect to the game, that you now have to plan for.

                              • Ah, but the great leader conversion to a tech gives you the message "xxxx beakers plus the leader for yyyy tech" (somewhat pictorially, in small print)

Fooled me too first time I cashed in.
