I also think the diplomacy upgrades are great to finally be able to work with the AI as always against it. I tried it once in civ3 to really build a relationship with the AI, an empire next to me, but I never really felt any signs of a strong and powerful relationship. Whenever some pact was to be renegotiated the mood dropped from the happiest to annoyed.
Now, we at least see why that's the case and this is probably the most important step into making diplomacy more useful. Then there is the religion thing which will make certain AI civs friendlier to you and give you something common.

Yes, but even in civ3, I think people usually were very cautious and conservative playing PBEM and demogames. I'm afraid about civ4 games without any agressive movement.

Great work on all this Solver. I still plan, however, to prove that ICS is alive in some form or another! More on that when I get a copy...wish me luck.

Some really boring stuff, but also my favorite part of Civ4 .

                How exactly, Yin?

Let me give you a challenge. Start a game on the Noble difficulty (no bonuses to you or the AI). Pick Egypt. Then, try to expand as much as possible, bsically, do ICS. Stop at 1 AD. Gauge your economy and research, and then compare yourself to the other AIs. I fully expect your economy to be in a horrible state and you to be behind everyone in just about every possible way.

Hmm, no comments on my lovely dress on that stats screenshot ?

The last part surely has AI comments, which is great, but even that's not all .

Leave ICS to the masters. Obviously without the game in front of me, I am severely limited, but I have some ideas on how to do this.

Does that involve building Settlers ?

I think that some really top players, like Aeson, may manage to overexpand early and still hold a healthy econ, but for us mortals it's not going to be possible.

Looking forward to seeing them on err paper, Yin.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

You have me worried there Yin, you're making devious strategies already for a game you haven't played .

Then again, you have quite some motivation to prove that ICS is possible .

Sweet . Love the Great People stuff. As I've always played more of a builder, so it's great that I can do so and have a decent chance to compete at the higher difficulty levels (which you couldn't really in the previous games).

And Yin, looking forward to the box eating . I can't see how ICS could possibly work.
