Graphics are important if the game is to be a success. I remember the bad graphics in those Civ flops. What were they....."Call to Power" and two others, I can't even remember the names now. Some of the graphics were so bright they ruined my "night" vision. And the unit icons were not sized well or were "camouflaged" so that they could not be seen, especially after looking at the polar caps. Hmm, maybe that was a game design.

The graphics in SMAC was very bad too, but it was more a bad color choice than anything. If I could play SMAC with Civ1 graphics I would love the gameOriginally posted by Allemand
