Good points. I voted 6-7, as is, but if it's as moddable as they say, I'd bump that up a few notches. I just hope the OVERALL game is RIGHT.

It's because the hardcore fans aren't the target audience.

The same is true for Civ.

Plus, Ent S4 *was* targeted at the hardcore audience (except the alien Nazi and TNG eps, B&B seem to target their episodes only at themselves -- 'cause Gene knows noone else likes 'em...), yet there were still quite a few dissatisfied voices even then (among all the ecstatic ones).

I voted a 9. No game has ever scored a 10 in my ratings. But im damn sure that with some mods, like city liberation, some really complex AI behaviour and stuff that only Fans can bring alive, CIV will be a major 10.

Dudes! 3D graphics will give you the feel of actually ruling some land! Promotions! Ohhh, promotions! Imagine your Imperial Guard! or the Border Rangers!

More resources, nice leaders, Wondermovies (tm)! Religion! (crusades!!!, smacking infidels!) and (hope) an AI and diplomacy system that really cope with all the nice features.
            Owww, I'm so cute! ^_^

I think it's great (8) at least because:
                  - 3D looks good (wrong 1st argument, oh well...)
                  - religion concept looks great
                  - resource system looks great
                  - improved resource improvements on terrain looks great
                  - new combat system looks great
                  - more diplomacy options look great
                  - multiplayer appears to be working and good
there's more, but this comes to mind first.

I wonder how people can think the game is mediocer at this moment. Of course you're allowed to, but I hope you can explain why.
you must be referring to me as only 1 person choose 5,despite your incorrect quote

                  3d: ok
                  religion:
                  resource ok
improvements showing on tiles: what a concept ^^ ive already played games that fully or partially had this
                  combat:
diplomacy:if its atleast better than SMAC and 10x better than civ3 diplo,it will be
multiplayer: if they can even get a decent MP going this time

im sure the game will be good at least, but compare it relativly to civ2 at release. if civ2 was rated 10 and other games 1,then cIV is 50 with other games at 45.
if you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it

''Oh,Commissar,if we could put the potatoes in one pile, they would reach the foot of God''.But,replied the commissar,''This is the Soviet Union. There is no God''.''Thats all right'' said the worker,''There are no potatoes''

I voted 8 - Great. I would've voted higher, but Civ3 was a bit of a disappointment to me, so I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

                          i voted 7

overall i know i'm gonna waste months of my life on it. I think it looks like an amazing game.

But i still wish the graphics looked a little different. I want civil wars put in. And frankly, even tho its not PC, I woulda liked Religions to have some kind of traits, even if implemented randomnly.

Of course, after modding, the game might easily be a 10 for me. But in my opinion, the game has to be reviewed as the company puts it on the shelf (or after patching). I have no clue how good the mods will be, and to attribute their worth to Firaxis seems unfair to the modder and too good to the company. Just because they give you the tools does not make the game better, IMO.

                          so 7.

                            I gave it 7

Based on the fact that it uses the Pirates engine I'm scared that the fights will be as slow as in pirates (making the best part of Pirates annoying )

And even though they say almost everything is modable, I voted based on what I believe the non-modded version of the game will be (ok, it being modable did add a little to the score of course)
And since I prefer to play Civ SP all the talk about MP doesn't really appeal to me.
This space is empty... or is it?
