From the recent news update:
In addition to noting how units must stay fortifed in order to build up their defences, and in turn take advantage of the fortification bonus previously available in the first turn, CivIV`s minimum and recommended system requirements are also revealed officially for the first time. The current min[imum] spec[ification] is a 1 GHz Pentium [III] with 256 MB RAM and a video card that supports hardware T[ransform and] L[ighting (T&L)]. We haven’t really worked out a recommended spec[ification] yet, but I imagine having 512MB of RAM, a P[entium IV], and a recent graphics card... would probably do the trick.
