I concur with joncunn, streamlined gameplay doesn't automatically mean dumber gameplay and limited tactical options. If the game is easy to play, the gameplay will also be fast.
Brilliant and effective way of curing headache, is to use a gun.

The graphics do look far better than in the previous screenshots, but they're still not that good yet. At any rate, though, thanks for the screenshot, Sn00py.

joncnunn, I believe it has been noted that the turns will be decreased from 550 (?) to 400 in Civ4, so in that case the idea of faster gameplay doesn't seem to be beneficial for those looking for more strategy. Your examples of how faster gameplay is better are certainly valid, but I'm not sure if that's what Solver was implying.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

To me, faster paced gameplay sounds like it might mean no more mid-game tedium, and that can only be a good thing

Oh, this image is copyrighted, so if better save it to your harddisk if you want to keep it, only a matter of time before it gets deleted... (No, I don't like it either but we don't want to get in trouble.)

I'm not sure if I see enough there to make a judgement. I care more about gameplay issues versus graphics... It just looks like zoomed in Civ3 graphics.

Speaking of which, I hope we get more than 2 view settings in cIV

                  Anyway, thanks Sn00py.

It is still not finished, and you have not played it anyway.
                    -Thanks for the screen..

Wouldn't anybody like the units to be a little bit smaller?

Not sure if I like what the units look like. Are those single units pictured or stacks?

                          hehehe,
                          I was not whining,
Actually the question that I wanted to post was: "Does anybody know if the units are resizeable?"
                          Now, STOP whining.

It's still amazing how people are completely sure how the game will be according to some marketing lines and a screenshot.
