  • Okay, I've validated the bug and found the cause.

    It is when a single flanking unit attacks. I'll be working on this one. In the meantime, if you want to continue a game that enters the non-ending AI turn, reload the save, open CTRL-W (before ending your turn) find the single flanker attacker and delete it. This should free up the turn.

        - AI freezup with Flanking attackers FIXED!
        - AI not selecting a true city for MAD targets FIXED! AI now uses the proper military advisor Area-City targetting methods.
        - A couple minor things.

                  Firstly, thanks everyone for your help in finding these bugs. It's been greatly helpful with the save games etc.

                  To that end, I think we might have a winner!

                  Beta 3.3 is now uploaded. I played with this DLL file into the medieval era with no bugs, freezes, etc. So all good thus far.

                  Have a play with this one and see if you can kill it.

                    • Okay, played through three games (using the quick setting... ugg) with the latest patch and haven't hit any bugs so far. Some odd behavior around stacks thinking they have movement points left after attacking, but that's not a big deal because they don't actually move. A few times, I thought that the the "stuck AI turns" was re-appearing, but the system recovered after about 30-45 seconds.

                      Don't know if this is intentional, but a stack of four or more catapults is nearly invincible in the early to mid game. I was facing off against Cathy for about 1500 years and it wasn't until I got knights that I could reliably take out her large catty stacks. Even going in with two macemen, four axemen, 2 archers and 2 cats of my own, my stack got decimated and only damaged one of her four cats.

                      Going to continue on tonight and get into the nuclear age to test out all the fun MAD additions.

                        • Hopefully, I'm doing something wrong here. Civ4 quits at the end of turn here.

                          • Just to confirm, there appears to be an issue where Civ4 with CTD.

                            I think it might have something to do with someone getting rifling. Have to validate it though. I now have three saves between 1400-1600AD with the bug. Thanks.
