Just what do you think taking a game engine and modifying it or a new title is?
What is done for first person shooters all the time....its an engine. Most first person shooter games use the Doom three engine or the half life 2 engine and are treated as new games. This is no different.

I think everyone would agree your response was rude, whereas the thing you were responding to was subjective, at most. Your sensitivity does you no favors to those reading it and you do yourself a considerable disservice. I would suggest that if you find someone's actions offensive that you find a more polite way of telling them so.

civ2 and civ3 both used the civ1 engine.
I've never played colonization, I'll give it a try for sure, but I'm not sure yet if it's a w00t for me or another delay for civ5

Civ2 and Colonization did use same engine.
Heh... Both had very similar text files for editing game values.

Others, I don't think so. Some code reuse does not make same engine.

But we all know that won't happen.

Agreeing with Snoopy's opinion doesn't change the fact that he was rude in his presentation of it. Unbecoming in an Admin. Anyway I'm not going to say any more.
