    1) This group professionally bates Muslims in a way that would be illegal in civilized countries.
As opposed to all the displays of piss Christ? I wager you think that baiting Christians is perfectly fine.

    2) Let's display the works of Chris Ofili (such as The Holy Virgin Mary) and Andres Serrano (Piss Christ) in the same town and tell the snipers they are allowed to shoot angry gun totin' white people.
Which have been done many times. If Piss Christ is ok, than so is this.

Does there have to be a body count for it to be concerning?
The correct answer is 14 because that's the number of people that died at Fort Hood.

Security in Texas certainly is greater than in France.

How many people here complaining about antagonizing and belittling minority religions would support shutting down The Book of Mormon?

There have been nearly 20 school shootings since Sandy Hook that resulted in at least one death. Several of these included death tolls of at least 5 people. Add in the number of incidents where there was no body count and the number rises well above 50.

I couldn't help but notice this Texas troll seems to have attracted considerably more 'concern' than any of those did. Care to comment?

Hate group gets attacked by nutcase terrorist. Sounds like a match made in hell.

It is too bad everyone involved wasn't killed.

Charlie hebdo is a anarchistic periodical making (sometimes sick) fun of any kind of authority, including state and religious.
From what I understand (and the presence of that dutch pr!ck caricature underlines it) the group in texas is KKK with a new target (moooslims).

Plus not everyone was supporting je suis charlie. Freedom of speech is absolute or there isn't any.
If charlie hebdo made fun of the genocide they would have been locked up.
They made fun of the prophait mohamed and some wacko wasted them.

(decidely they would never made fun of the genocide though, it would be completely out of character)

As I understand it, Obama is actually bringing his Muslim friends over here. That was not just an accusation made by racists. It shouldn't suprise anyone that there is resistance.

They may not like the comparison but they do have a message in common: That they should get used to it and accept that they live in a society that privileges the right to blaspheme over their "right" to punish blasphemers with death.

“If a large enough group of someones is willing to kill you for saying something, then it’s something that almost certainly needs to be said, because otherwise the violent have veto power over liberal civilization, and when that scenario obtains it isn’t really a liberal civilization any more.” - The Blasphemy We Need

I'm willing to recognize the fact that different societies have different values and historical sensitivities which need to be addressed and are being addressed through prohibitive laws.
I don't like it, but I see if this serves a need for societal peace (I still don't like it).

But coming back to the point. How many is "large enough group"?

Survivalists that live in the woods and think the federal gov. is devil incarnated and are willing to kill for it?
Bunch of extremes that believe that an image of their god shouldn't be displayed and are willing to kill for it?

                        They are the same

Exactly. And all things being equal, the domestic extremists are always the bigger threat due to proximity. I'd sooner support drone strikes over rural areas in America than I would the drone program abroad. Better to kill the enemies within first.

I don't live in a rural area. My political activities consist of voting... maybe once every couple of years.

                              I'm not worried.
