Stop being pathetic, even children have more self respect.
Hey, I'm not the one lecturing people for not having the correct beliefs about someone who I believe is a sky fairy. Seriously.

Now Jesus' lecture about divorce is a condemnation of contraception?
He talks about husband and wife 'where two become one flesh'. Contraception puts a condom between you, so that you ain't 'two becoming one flesh'. Like I said, it's all connected.

You've had your glaring faults pointed out so many times now, it's just not worth the effort anymore. It's not like you ever actually listen anyway.
So you're saying that I'm actually none of these things, but if you lie enough you hope they become an accepted truth. Cool beans.

Clearly not in your case. You seem to think that parroting 'I'm a sinner' is the same as actually doing anything about your (many) sins.
Apparently including the sin of not being sufficiently liberal to please Kentonio. Maybe if you become a Christian someone will actually listen to you bleating about sin.

Just like all those millions of people ruthlessly slaughtered by the tyrannous socialists in Sweden, and Norway and.. oh wait..
Hey, that's a scotsman. Stalin was a socialist. Stalin killed millions of people. "Stalin wasn't a TRUE Socialist."

Or is the standard, "some socialists actually refrain from killing millions?" Fantastic.

Sure, let's just pretend Christs admonishments to the disciples to give up their worldly goods are just not relevant.
It is relevant, but only after the first two have been satisfied. Ie, it takes a lower priority to "Love the Lord your God", and "Love your neighbour as yourself".

Condemning the rich for not following Christ's admonition while failing to follow Christ's commandments is pure hypocrisy. Strain a gnat, swallow a camel.

Yet again you pick and chose whatever bits you like
What pick and choose? I'm not the one who's saying that Christ is right only sometimes, when and if he agrees with my personal prejudices.

cast away the rest and the overall message.
Says the avowedly non-Christian. LOL! "Know thyself!"

You've made your disgust towards liberals clear many times.
Yes, especially rich ones like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, etc. Apparently wealthy people are all conservatives, except for when they aren't.

The most religious people I've ever met have been some of the most humble, compassionate and simply good people out there. People who genuinely try their hardest to emulate the example of Jesus. Then again some of the other most humble, compassionate and simply good people have been atheists, so for me the person is a lot more important than the belief system.
Which is an atheist creed, that one can be good without God and that you can be a good person without knowing Him. What does Christ say? The rather radical, "No one is Good".

What really gets my skin crawling though are people who claim to subscribe to a believe system and then act completely opposite
Nah, what really gets under your skin is that a Christian isn't 'meekly submitting' to your atheist bull****.

I'm a capitalist, but in a time of rampant and frankly obscene capitalist excess I don't feel any need to give it any defense.
One of the neat things about Marxists is that they are fully materialists. They just hate capitalism, just like you do.

What is very certain however is that a balance between socialism and capitalism is the only truly decent system that has so far been tried
Serious question. Does mixing **** in with your breakfast cereal improve the taste?

How ironic, you managed to lie in a post claiming you don't lie. Priceless.

Please learn what things mean before you try and use them, it might avoid you looking stupid. What you've just done there is try and claim that individual examples prove a universal truth, which is stupid. Here's a few other examples of your logic..

"All priests must be pedophiles because some are."
"All Canadian deaf people must be gay because some are."

You realize now the rather idiotic error you made, right?

Oh interesting, so the commandments are far more important than another pronouncements of Christ? So not working on a Sunday is a much, much more important thing than say homosexuality or contraception? Yet you seem to spend so little time raging about those evil Sunday workers, why is that?

Sure you are, you do it all the time. Like the way you hate people based on their political affiliation regardless of the good they do for others. Like for instance..

Oh my, the Christian admits to hating people! And which people is it that he hates? Is it the billionaires who are unashamed about their contempt for the poor and who openly exploit the needy for their own enrichment? No of course not, it's the couple of rare billionaires who give hundreds of millions of dollars to try and help the most needy people in the world, and who set up vast charitable foundations on a scale the world has never seen before. Obviously those people are for more worthy of hate. You ****ing hypocrite.

You should really learn to read some time. I hear it's rather an important skill when you're supposedly a teacher.

Unrestrained capitalism has been tried on several occasions, notably including the age of the railroad barons where we had some wonders as the poor houses, people being worked to death, rampant disease and massive rates of childhood mortality and savage levels of economic inequality. An age where rich people were more than happy to use violence and murder to subdue rivals and expand their fortunes.

It really does beggar believe that you have the temerity to claim to be a Christian.

Hahaha, **** that must be the most tenuous 'connection' I've seen since the last time I heard those 9/11 conspiracy whackjobs bleating their bull****.

The only way to really become one flesh is to eat your wife and thus her body will become your's. (not the oral sex "eat" ... that is a sin for altogether different reasons ... the cannibalistic "eat")

Which biblical verse said that cunnilingus is a sin?

It's called fraud when you work at a job that pays you less than poverty level, so that you qualify for welfare benefits and you accept those benefits? I mean, heck, Walmart even informs its employees how to get government benefits that they qualify for because Walmart pays them less than the line.

Maybe fraud by the companies you mean? Another reason for a living wage?

I fail to see support for the obvious point you seem to be going for here. The Bible in general including these verses seem to be talking about private willingness to help the poor rather than State coercion in forcing the issue. If your intent is to defend the morality of the dole, we could start with an argument that the Welfare State has not become what FDR warned against and turned into a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit. If you could work in a moral defense of the war against mountain pride, that would be great.
But that back of the class question is silly. The nation-state didn't exist back then - however, the societies in which these people lived in had some very hard and fast rules about providing for the poor - basically you couldn't be a part of the society if you didn't do your part. For ancient Israel, it was to follow the law which required you to leave food for the poor. For ancient Christianity, it was to give all your money away to the community (or else God would strike you dead - ie, Ananias and Sapphira). I will also submit that "destroyer of the human spirit" is absolute bull**** - providing for the poor and destitute is a matter of moral imperative and holds people up as moral beings rather than less than human losers of the economic system. I'm sure various Popes, if we are focusing on Catholic theology, would emphasize that point.

You have to admit though, it's pretty funny that some people can see an outreach campaign to bring welfare to the most needy and decide that it constitutes a 'War on mountain pride'. Those pesky liberals, bringing their evil food into the hands of the vulnerable hungry poor folk. Whatever vile trick will they try next..

The pope would say so, but protestants might think differently. (hint, yes, it is. )
