Roman Gabriel! Stand there with defenders hanging all over him, and he's still throw 60 yards downfield. He was nicjnamed "The Tree" because of that very thing.
    I have his rookie card.

Namath was horrid. He was just in SuperBowl III and gave the guarantee and was the glamor boy of the league, so he gets the nod. Meh.

Yeah, Namath's induction was driven not only by that, but by its byproduct -- forcing the unification of the AFL and NFL, creating the league we have today.

He was all-AFL 4 times and was the first to pass for 4,000 yds in a season, so he's not without cachet. But he was a 50% passer who threw more INTs than TDs. His career QB rating was a putrid 65.5.

        I blame the NY media.

April 19, 2008Report: Shockey wants out

Just hours after Drew Rosenhaus climbed to the mountaintop and declared that all talks involving rockstar tight end Jeremy Shockey will remain "between Jeremy and the New York Giants", the Star-Ledger brought us this ...
Shockey told the Giants in December he wanted a changed role in the offense or a trade to another team, according to a person familiar with discussions between Shockey, the Giants' coaching staff and front office. The person, who requested anonymity because he isn't authorized to speak on behalf of Shockey or the Giants, said Shockey threatened to sit out the upcoming season if neither request was granted.

Shockey, 27, who suffered a broken fibula in a Dec. 16 loss to the Redskins, feels his career is being cut short by all the blocking he has been asked to do since Tom Coughlin became coach of the Giants in 2004. While blocking is an integral part of a tight end's job description, Shockey believes he was more effective as a receiver under former coach Jim Fassel and offensive coordinator Sean Payton, now the coach of the New Orleans Saints, who are interested in trading for Shockey.

Asking a tight end to block? What were the Giants thinking?!?!?
I think Shockey is too much negative. Adios, jackoff.

Palmer, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Cutler, and Romo. I think all five of them will be superior to McNair and the like, but only some of them will be good enough to make the Hall of Fame.
My bet is on Roethlisberger and Rivers. Romo, Cutler and Palmer won't.
Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

                    • Romo plays in Dallas. It gives him a huge leg up in future HOF consideration.

                      • I don't know how you figure that. Pittsburgh leads the league in having their ass kissed.

                        • Romo i's on a good team that gets national attention. Same for Big Ben. That's a factor, and it puts Palmer and Rivers at a huge disadvantage. In fact, based on the Bengals franchise, I would suggest that Carson Palmer will have to change teams in order to reach the Hall. Rivers, at least, has a decent chance to win a ring.

                          • I'm interested in seeing how New Orleans rebounds, or not this year.

For both, you could say the same thing as has been said about other QB's previously. Tomlinson definitely makes it easier.

                            • I think NO is going to win the South this year. They finally signed some talent on defense.

                              • Palmer has a very good chance if he stays healthy... but if Chad Johnson gets his wish and gets traded... it gets a bit harder.
