Instructions for quick wash:
Tie clothes in bundle, drop in toilet and flush 5-times
then tie damp clothes around neck in capelike fashion
and run around block yelling "I am normal!" until clothes are air-dried.

Yes! Thanks Erika.![]()

Anyone have some Old Norse cavalry, including a mounted Jarl, as well as a general set of Celts and a kebenit and dragon ship they could make me for my Mythological Age scenario?
It would be mighty neighbourly.![]()

Here's a tough question, has anyone ever attempted the massive flagship of Chinese Emperor Zheng He's treasure fleet? Its obvious just how large this monster of the seas was when compared with Columbus's Santa Maria (400 ft long compared to 85 ft long).
This tremendous beast aparently made routine visits to the Indian Ocean as well as the East Coast of Africa from 1405 -33.

I don't think the Santa Maria was very big by European standards of the time, either. Though I could be wrong.
I'll stick with an Iowa class for touring the Indian Ocean and the east coast of Africa- especially for when we make a pit-stop in Mogadishu.
Well I'd try stay away from the East Coast of Africa in any ship. A friend of mine who's an officer in the navy told me that its close to becoming the worlds second deadliest pirate zones for shipping.
In any case I'm no ship artist otherwise I would have attempted this myself a long time ago. However I think a unit like this could easily find a home in any number of historical period scenario's, or possibly a scenario where China didn't scrap her 4500 ship fleet in 1433 and instead compted with Europe for colonization of India, the Middle East and Africa.

this is an early byzantine 'scoutatos' pikeman

and a byz archer to fight him with![]()

and a greek revolutionary (1821)

This is a 'proestos' unit. It is supposed to be a diplomat substitution, for any scen that has Greece in the beginning of the 19th century.

Excellent work![]()

I am working on some more greek revo units. This is a painting of Ypsilante (russian aristocrat of greek descent, who organised a revolution in moldowallachia during the greek revolution)

i will probably work on it somemore, since i am not sure just what level of detail people have come to expect for civ2 units!

varwnos: I like it! One thing, maybe the sabre curves too drastically near the end of it? I think the shading is good, though you can never have too much of it![]()

i made two versions of Ypsilante:
the first isnt historical, it has the "laura" land greek flag (it looked like the flag finland has now). But at least it is more clear what its emblem is.
The second is again an attempt to make the flag in the painting, which i am not familiar with, and was probably just used locally in the rebellion in the moldavian hegemonies.

And although i do not want to take over the thread (where are all of the other creators?) here is a last update: the same units + an ottoman bey and the "philhellene" unit
the philhellene is supposed to look like a french author, for example victor hugo.
the good thing about the philhellene unit is that it is usable in many scenarios and not at all strictly at a greek revolution scen, which anyway i guess wont be made...![]()

i will have to try hard to top the sheer decadence of this unit:
this is a "zorba"
zorba is just a name, it doesnt mean anything, but i named it this because it is doing its little dance. I personally absolutely detest this stereotype of Greece, but the unit can be used as a happy revolter (and hopefully be put to the sword)![]()

Mmmm, is his first name by any chance Alexis?
Excellent work![]()

Ty JP
here are two more greek revo units:
The Ali Pasha!
you can check the painting here: (the pic doesnt automatically show when linked unfortunately) : http://members.fortunecity.com/fstav...1/alipasha.jpg
Miaoulis (he was one of the main heros, and a sort of admiral, although the greek fleet wasnt exactly on par with the brittish empire at the time!)

Better still, that scantily dressed Boudicca, charging on her British chariot?
I am sure you keep these somewhere![]()
Oh i still have those in my HD. Even though i lost that Roman scenario files i've managed to save every gfx that the Englishwannabe created for my scen. I even have the reworked versions. Will post them sometime soon as i am currently in Epirus recruiting militiamen.
