WARNING
IN ORDER FOR THIS NOT TO BE CONSIDERED ANOTHER thread of that prohibited kind.........IF ALL posts made in FRENCH include an English translation, then I won't close it down and other mods may show similar mercy.
If you are truely working on your French, as claimed, then providing a translation probably with strengthen your skill and allow others to learn or check your work.
I'll check back later to see if this SIMPLE request has been complied with.![]()

rah,
you said that all french posts should include an english translation. I'm afraid that at least for me and I'm sure for many others, this is way too much effort and will ultimately kill the thread which has started out nicely and is providing what we are looking for meaning french practice.
I'd ask that you reconsider. For me to try and write in french and then translating everything I wrote in english is really very very hard and tedius. I think for many others too.

while translation to english would be great for me, there are of course folks here (other than the Francophones) for whom English is NOT their native language, and they must already do some mental translating to get to english. To have to deal with TWO foreign languages in each post might be an obstacle.

And I'm sorry too... the point is that you are currently breaking the rules... it's that simple. So translate or be shut down. The choice is yours.Originally posted by paiktis22

There is no choice I'm afraid. You can shut it down or leave it open for those willing to go through that drag... I think very few will but I may be wrong.

Mes professeurs captilisent le pronom "Je" au debut de la phrase.Donc j' imagine qu'il ne faut pas l'ecrire en capital?

Quelle bonne idea
AHHH I need such a thread real bad. I mean I dont even know whats "because" in french. I know it in spanisch but not in french and I studied french for 4 years and spanish just for one now. All this spanish has overriden my french.
I am in between two languages, because I have forgotten a lot of french and I still know not enough spanish. Terrible!
Of course I can read it all what you are writing here and I understand it and get the jokes, but I cant write it... Sólo español veut arrivé a mi mind :-) (I am ready for Europanto/Esperanto I guess :-D)

I like to use Donc, but because is puisque.
There are plenty of ways to make that phrase.

how about this
everyone who posts in french has to translate into another language, but not necessarily English. So if Paiktis wants to translate into Greek instead, thats ok.
Or how about we limit it still further. Since the site owners are a Greek and a Canadian, anything posted en francais (in French) must be translated into one of the other official languages of one of the owners' countries - that would be either English, or Greek![]()

Or someone can do a running translation of the untranslated French posts to English.
