You don't even know what you're talking about... You weren't perma-killed, you just happened to have an autosave where the next action that occurs after you load is you die, because you walked out of a door where on the other side was a guy who wanted to kill you, and did. If that's the first time this has happened to you in a RPG, you haven't played many (sp) RPGs ...

This isn't WoW where you get 'revived' (which obviously would be silly to revive you in a spot where you die again). The game doesn't know it's killing you over and over again - you're replaying the same exact save spot over and over again. You're the moron here, sorry...

Hmm, the hint sections in the both the Fallout 1 and 2 manuals mention to "save often" - several times each.

Guess Fallout 3 is continuing the tradition of wanting you to save often constantly.

          Boy, don't press me today.

If I enter an infinite loop and need to resort to a manual save, it's broken and a perma-kill. Deal with that.

It's the autosave that's moronic, it is not moronic to steal when one is evil. It is moronic for the entire town to instantly be alerted to the fact that you stole from someone's cupboard and then kill you thousands of times on end for doing so and then have the game's stupid autosave system to save every time you enter a new building/zone, which means in the process of FLEEING from the villagers trying to kill you, you override you save and get yourself into an unrecoverable (BROKEN) situation.

The fact that this happens in the VERY FIRST TOWN when the player is still learning the game is also moronic.

So no, the moronic things here were the game designs and the potential bugs that triggered an insane response to a simple action.

The other moron here would be you, for insisting I am a moron for getting trapped by a moronic game design mechanic.

          Class dismissed.

Yes, this is a weak-ass game mechanic that instantly disqualifies it from being GOTY. It's beyond lame.

Additionally, can anyone tell me where the Fallout 3 manual is if I bought it on Steam...

Damn snoopy, you are a moron.

                Seriously, what the ****.

Are you guys having some kind of "stupid convention" and thought "let's piss off Asher with incessant and blatant stupidity?"

If so, mission accomplished. Holy ****.

BS. Every game displays the option and Fallout 3 doesn't?

                    CORRECT. THIS IS THE PROBLEM.

You guys can either PM your collective apologies to me, or be men and make them public. There's no ****ing manual for Fallout 3 on Steam -- or if there is, it's not accessible from the Steam UI.

The "View Manual" option appears for every game in my list but Fallout 3.

That's funny because your Xbox account shows 30 achievement points for Fallout 3. That is consistent with you quitting after the opening quests because you got mashed by the Megaton villagers.

I think given the discussion this evening the context was clear to all intelligent posters.

As Snoopy points out you can be a badass. But don't get caught or be able to deal with the heat.

You stupid ****ing twit, Fallout 3 is a "Games for Windows Live" game. That account represents PC achievements as well.

You've got a backlog of mistakes to admit to. Including your last post.

I'm waiting for your apology via PM, or publicly. Either way make it quick!

Just remembered something thanks to Ash, no way I'm getting Left 4 Dead now. I have Team Fortress 2, and have had it for over a year, but haven't tried it yet. I literally haven't as much as launched the game.
