        Okay, to ensure that things aren't a headache- you can spend your own bonus gold, but you can't 'plan' to have the bonus gold that your trading partners have. That seems fair.

        After the game, we'll see about codifying that into the rules to clarify things.

                    As for caravans, I would think that it is fine as is, where you cannot depend on income from your neighbours caravans, but do depend on your own income in the turn generated. (Meaning your own Trade income is received at the start of the turn, others trade income is received at the end of the turn)

                    One question I did ask of Darkcloud in my orders is: If trade income is sabatoged by spies resulting in less gold, can the remaining gold be allocated with the variance. So if I have 30 gold with trade and 20 gold without, can I send in two sets of orders essentially, one with the trade income, one without? We already indicate what we don't want to buy/build if we lose the trade income, I am just not sure we can indicate what we want instead.

                        Almost done processing orders for the turn. I discovered in an older version of the game that it had some rules that we didn't notice that clarified things we were confused about:

                        "Maximum caravans per turn = your tech level or 15,
                        whichever is less"

                        and "trader gets gold immediately, recipient, next turn"

                            Trade Rules Clarified.

                            I just spent 1 1/2 hours recoding the GM program due to some confusion... I think this answers everyone's questions about trading:

                            Trade

                            Distance: You can trade with any society as many spaces away as your Tech Level. For example, at Tech 1, you can only trade with adjacent neighbors. At Tech 2, there can be one square separation.

                            Cost = Sum of tech levels between you and trading partner.
                            Payout= Product of tech levels.
                            Net Gains= the Difference between (Payout-Cost)

                            Trader: Receives Net Gains of trade immediately that can be budgeted into Production Phase.
                            Recipient: Receives Balance at the beginning of the next turn.

                            Limitations: You may only trade with countries whom you are not currently at war with. Peace may be declared by both players allowing a return to trading on the same turn it is declared.

                            * A declaration of peace by one side results in remaining at war and no trade with the other empire is possible.

                            * You cannot send additional caravans with gold made from caravans just sent the same turn.

                            * Maximum caravans per turn = your tech level or 15,
                            whichever is less.

                            Recommendations: When formulating orders, please realize that your trading may be interdicted by spies. So please list what expenditure to cut in that event, or else the GM will take stuff off the back of your list.

                            Caravans:
                            Cost = Sum of tech levels between you and trading partner. Reward = Product of tech levels, to both societies.

                                The Birds of Prey also perhaps foolishly traded with and enriched MJW for next turn.

                                * The Acropolis Was constructed in Austin, Capital of the Empire of Texas... For a mind-boggling 50 gold.

                                * Kira's Kingdom, under the leadership of Kira MJW II did many actions.

                                First, they sent a spy to stop Sparrowhawks army production. Now, Sparrowhawk should consider himself lucky he was not producing armies... Except for what happened later.

                                Trade was enacted with The Empire of Missouri

                                Cities were built on H11, technology was advanced, and G11 And 9 Armies were built.

                                Then, MJW Sneak attacked Sparrowhawk and took G12. Many Ospreys were slain and the city was rennamed "Berlin."

                                TO CHECK . I think this is correct, but I strongly encourage Theben, to double check the facts I ask down here.

                                * 10% of 108 gp world trade=10; manually added into thebens calculation.
                                So theben had 154 gp (100+50 (monarchy) + silk road bonus = 164 gp.

                                Also of Note:

                                Thank you Jonny for how you send in your orders, when everyone includes the calculations for themselves, it really helps me double check if my program for calculating everything is working correctly If all you others can mirror jonny's order sending style, that would be much appreciated.

                                With that noted, Jonny, you were 1 gp short of being able to build another city- when you calculated constructing cities H9 really cost 15gp, and I9 cost 18gp instead of 12 and 15 like you had suspected. So I cut that order.
