Society Update

* Several Empires, such as Greater Missouri and Kira's Kingdom attempted to construct the wonder that is the Colosseum. However, the Empire of Pwnage decided to demonstrate its Pwnage and 1337 capacities early, and expened an extensive effort to construct the Colosseum, spending (14 gp)!

In other news, the Empire of Ninjabhadistan and Kira's Kingdom researched technology level 3, becoming the most learned Empires in all the lands. Sadly, for their sake, this means that technology level 3 will now become less costly for their neighbors/enemies to research.

How did I get another city?

couple of items,

1. I have nothing under my name (aka no status).
2 there is no color code on the new map. Oh the chart is the code, but it is a little far away from the map, perhaps some togetherness is in order.
3. Clairification: The rules say we start with one city and 20 gold, it says nothing of starting with masonry even though it is free, hence I was thinking that I could not take a chance at a wonder since you have to have a tech before you can build a wonder. Just needs to be clairified.

I have a question... would anyone object if we added a small feature to the Colosseum?

Currently:

1. Colosseum- makes you immune to enemy attack. Expires with anyone reaches Industrialization (#8). Clarification: If you attack someone, they get one counterattack.

However, I suggest to add immunity to enemy espionage.

A note: Espionage is not discoverable until level 7 unless someone builds the trojan horse, in which case someone IS producing spies perhaps as soon as turn 3. Also, the Colosseum expires at level 8 tech, which would possibly be as early as turn 5. I think this change would make Colosseum a little more strategically valuable.

I don't think a rules change would be a good precedent after the game has started.

I would also like to thank EPW for building the Colloseum in my capital. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't we already switch the Colloseum and the Tower in order to make the Colloseum more valuable? If so, I would like to try it as is for now and see if it makes a difference first.

And though I hate to admit it, I agree with Tahban that making changes to the game after starting would be a bad precedent to set.
