FO2 had all drugs renamed as "chems" for the UK release. I think they also removed some scene where there's kids or something.

OH NOES, PEOPLE MIGHT FIND OUT ABOUT MORPHINE. MY GOD, WE MUST SAVE OUR PEOPLE FROM THAT HORRIBLE DISCOVERY.

God help me if my own nation ever goes too far that direction...

Is morphine completely illegal in Australia? You'd think legitimate medical supplies wouldn't attract that much concern.

If I had to guess, it's because in the game you will be self-medicating without doctor's supervision.

How about morphina, the fictional counterpart of morphine?

Well it's good to know that the Australian equivalent of the FDA and DEA will exist after nuclear war. What would we do without them?

                    For the record -

Australia, which started its commercial opium poppy industry in 1970, is already the world's largest legal producer of morphine, codeine and other painkilling extracts from the poppy plant.

It's not that morphine is illegal. The issue for Fallout 3 is it's heavily regulated.

So the original Fallout is now available on Gametap. I never even heard of it way back when... I assume it is worth giving it a shot?

Yes. There may be some issues getting it to run properly under Windows XP or Vista (I got it to work on XP, but don't have Vista), but if you can get it running it's well worth checking out.

Both Fallout 1 and 2 were good fun. Well worth playing.

It's funny how they implemented the perk system and stuff in a move to get away from the D&D system. And then in 2001 the D&D system came up with skills and feats which basically worked the same way.

If you're not bothered by how awful 640*480 is going to look now then knock yourself out.

Can't quite get it to work properly. Lots of rainbow effects and graphical glitches. I'll give it some time before they work out the kinks.

Seriously. I love how people always knock "eye candy" like it is something evil. I personally don't want to play 640x480 graphics on my 22" widescreen no matter how good the "gameplay" is/was. Speaking of which, I also think people tend to romanticize games way beyond their current worth; yeah, Fallout was fun back in the day, but other stuff has come along since.
