Let's state it now. When the PC version comes out, let's compare the screenshots then; and we'll see who really is right.
No one has contested that by the time the PC version eventually comes out, it'll probably look better than what's on the consoles now on a sufficiently high end system.
What we did contest is this:
1) The game is out now for consoles
2) It is probably a great game
3) It looks great now on consoles
4) Many of us prefer to play games like GTA on the console. I played GTA3 on the PS2, GTA3 Vice City on the computer, and GTA3 San Andreas on the PS2 again. Now I'm playing GTA4 on the 360.
Why do you keep coming back to this thread if you can't even play the game? Are you that desperate in wanting the game or are you that pathetically insecure about PC as a gaming medium that you feel you need to sell it to people who obviously do own gaming PCs, but also own consoles?

Asher, saying that you can play it now and I can't because I want it on the PC is on the same level as saying you want to play Starcraft 2 now even though it will be a bit buggy. At least that's how I see it. (Graphics and intuitive controls are a big thing for me). Understand?
I don't care that it's out now, I don't care that you can play it now, I only care that it comes out on PC within this year. And while you spoil yourself with ****ty graphics, I will be enjoying sharp graphics in due time, and probably bug-free, ironed out problems, maybe an even higher FPS rate and added features, not to forget mods and other ****.
If you haven't realised it already, the only thing that bothers me about consoles, is that people keep using them. It doesn't put us (the players) on the winning end. You give the control back to the publishers - you know the ones? The evil back-stabbing, blood-sucking *******s?

Nope, 'cause you're bat**** crazy.
If you didn't care, you wouldn't be here. Go away.
My PC is better than yours, I own all of the consoles, I own GTA4, I'm sexier than you, I have a better avatar than you, and my spelling is better than yours. I own you.

That is perhaps the worst personal attack in the history of Apolyton.
The only saving grace is Agathon found it funny and thumbs-up worthy, which is pretty amusing.

It probably won't.
I played the GTAIII series on my PC (well, aside from San Andreas), but it is fun to play on a 30'' HDTV while sitting on my couch.

Pretty glad I didn't get the PS3 version now. Apparently the 60GB PS3s are very susceptible to game freezes, which is the model I have. The multiplayer for PS3 has also been offline since launch due to technical problems, while it works flawlessly on Xbox Live.
You sign up then link your XBL/PSN account, then you have access to a bunch of features. The LCPD Blotter, for instance, shows a map of Liberty City showing where crime is taking place across all people's GTA's games...other stuff too, haven't looked around too much yet

I hear reports of lots of crashes and freezes on both platforms. Seems like the reviewers must have been "lucky", makes one wonder.

I haven't experienced any crashes, nor have the vast majority of people on Beyond3D.
Another thing to note is most reviewers play games on developer kits so they can take screenshots.
But from the few reports of freezes circulating, the majority of them are on 60GB PS3s.

I won't get GTA either. I probably would enjoy the concept of the game, but I don't particularly identify with the whole gang lifestyle thing
Maybe they can make Oblivion meets GTA someday...
That's where I'm at as well. I'ld probably enjoy the general gameplay, but don't particularly wish to play the gangster crap.
Mercenaries 2 comes out soon anyway.
