When people say they think this will sell well do they mean in comparison to GH3? Bioshock? Halo3?

Compared to Guitar Hero III. I think a lot of people who played and bought GH2 held off on buying GH3 and will pick up Rock Band. I'm sure a lot of people with GH3 will buy the game by itself, since their controller will work with it. And I'm sure a lot of people who are "new" to the genre (familiar with Guitar Hero, played it, but never owned it) will buy it.

As Asher pointed out, the physical dimension of the box will constrict distribution, so I can see this game selling out in a lot of stores.

Yeah, maybe I should have stuck with the 1-3 mil that I put down first. Admittedly, 3M is a way long shot as I have no idea about their ability to keep up with demand.

I'm mainly thinking that this will be huge for xmas. (Although I may be biased due to what I see in my upper middle class neighborhood, and the population of young kids and parents with too much money).

I have a buddy that works at UPS, and he said that is all he sees is pallets full of rockband cases every night for the last two weeks. (only 2 boxes fit in a case). (There was something else he mentioned as being high in volume, but I do not remember what it was).

There's 6 weeks to go to the end of the year. I know it's Christmas but I think a million is stretching it given the price.

Picked this up last night and played all day today.

$170 is a small price to pay to be able to play Won't Get Fooled Again with my wife and friends.

Honest to goodness, the songs in this game are just incredible. Outside of a few WTF songs, everything on here is great--or better. There are at least thee songs that are legit candidates for Greatest Rock Song Ever Made.

Galnemer and I just started exploring the Band World Tour option. Awesome.


This may usurp Portal as my favorite game of the year.

Just bought Rock Band tonight with my roommates. Still setting up the characters and all. Looks like it'll be pretty fun.

There is one song that is nigh impossible (I think), both with guitar and with drums, even on Easy. "Green Grass and High Tides" (or is it the other way around?) ****ing hate that song. Plus it goes on for 10 freaking minutes.

I'm never going to be able to play guitar beyond medium. With GH, that was the best I could do. I've been playing the drums on Rock Band on hard, doing fairly decently.

The hitbox for the notes is way smaller than in Guitar Hero. Meh. (Probably because of that,) I think the guitar sequences are a bit less interesting than the ones in GH, at least on Medium.

I'm pretty successful at medium difficulty with the guitar; I tried a couple songs on hard just now, and whoa, that is a STEEP learning curve.

I'm doing alright on medium with the drums, except I can't get past that one ****ing song...

Hard is pretty, er, hard. I had to go down to Medium on the drums.

Vocals is OK, but not nearly as fun unless you are already familiar with the song.
