  • Assassin's Creed

Gamespot says yay, but unlike the other recent great games on the Xbox this time it's not unanimous. IGN had a mediocre score, as did several other sites.

    Game Informer - 95
"Its stunning visual style, high concept story, and wildly open level design are like nothing else, even if too much repetition begins to frustrate in the later hours. It’s a game people will still be talking about five years from now."

    GameSpot - 90
"In Assassin's Creed, the greatest joy comes from the smallest details, and for every nerve-racking battle, there's a quiet moment that cuts to the game's heart and soul. "

    Team Xbox - 79
"Assassin’s Creed has a rich spread of activities with hours of gameplay. Unfortunately, it gets extremely repetitive about midway through—and then it unsatisfyingly turns into a tedious, combat-heavy game. "

    IGN - 77
"If you play Assassin's Creed for an hour, you will probably think it's a fantastic game. But as Assassin's progresses, its dual storylines and repetitive quests begin to grow tiresome. There are so many great individual elements, but they are lost among the myriad of poor decisions from Ubisoft Montreal. "

    GameSpy - 70
"Instead of a true stealth engine, you have awkward "hide spots" to accommodate the free roaming. Combat is either too easy or too hard, lacking the brilliance of a dedicated action title. And the free-roaming, bound as it is to mission objectives that would be fine in a more linear game, is just unsatisfying. Each element of the game is individually interesting, but as a whole the package feels incomplete and patchwork more than innovative. "

Well, at least they tried to do something new. The sequel will likely be more polished.

Yeah. The funny thing about the review is it's obvious which ones didn't finish the game.

Isnt it coming out on PS3 and PC as well? Presumably it will be just as mediocre on those platforms.

The ps3 version will be out on the same day as the 360 version. The PC version doesn't come out till 2008. It seems that the ps3 version has frame rate issues that the 360 version doesn't have.

The PC version will come out later, this is because consoles suck, and are actually beta-testing machines.

It will look better and run better on PC's. I'm looking forward to it.

Hmm, just read the gamespot review and it said the ps3 version had more solid framerates than the 360 version, the IGN seems to say the opposite.

Wow, that alienware is fugly. Granted, they always are.

Also, that 360 costs 1/5 to 1/10 of what the Alienware does. So you have plenty of money left over for a great HDTV

Kuciwalker, you are one of those weird kind of people talk about. You may not know about it.

It's when a group of friends say "hey look at that weirdo" or "that guy is weird".

That's you, you are who we are talking about.

The PS3 looks like a Panasonic DVD player. The XBox looks like the dorky mini HP PC.

The Alienware looks like a custom-built Ferrari designed to kick your arse.

Kuci's not weird, he's got taste, that's all. Maybe its an alien concept from where you come from The Alienware is fugly as hell. It doesn't look at all like a Ferrari, it looks like those fugly cars in the Fast and the Furious. Putting neon lights on a Ferrari would be a crime.
