Come on folk.... did you read what was actually said lol, or just the thread title?

This game is not like Baldurs Gate, except that it is story driven and is a long game. Beyond the title, baldurs gate is not even mentioned, the title itself is a joke to draw attention to the thread as any real RPG fan acknowledges BG2s supremacy.

It looks interesting, I may try it out. Have to wait for word of mouth first. I don't really trust reviews that much anymore. As Oblivion is rated so highly by almost everyone. I'd give it an average rating myself.

This looks more like Dungeon Siege than anything else.

This looks like an action RPG set in an interesting world (though I doubt we'll see the same Snow White as in the books). You have lots of skills, but they don't have points in them. You have special moves. It looks like there are two things in the game: Choices which affect the story, and fights.
All quests can be accomplished in several ways and the game has three different endings
            This sounds nice.
So to me the question is: Would I like the way fights are handled? This being real time, I think the answer is probably no, but I'd like to play a demo.

Unfortunately, the web site of the game totally s***s. You get an image in which you must hover the mouse in order to get cryptic info on what may happen if you click there. Very badly done website: although it is pretty, I find it unusable.

It appears to be. Here's the blow up of the box picture:

The rating on the box in the picture is 18+, while the North American box has the ESRB rating M in the lower left hand corner.

Of course, there is no guarantee the box art goes with what they're actually selling, but that's where I got Fahrenheit and it showed the same thing.

                Plays nothing like dungeon siege.

The "tutorial" mission and chapter 1 sell the game short.

Chapter 2 is a lot more "role playing esque", less combat, a lot more dialouge, more meaningful choices, the wide world to explore and more decisions to make.

that combat system sounds very unfun to me. timing your blows? maybe I'm misunderstanding that...

Combat is easy, even on the hardest difficulty.

It's not whether it's easy but whether it's fun? Any demo somewhere?

                        There's already a 1.1 patch out, amusingly enough ...

Many games have had a patch within a week of release. I haven't held it against any companies as long as it fixes the problems.

I'll probably buy the UK version of this soon, as that version is not uncensored.

It's not a graphic novel. It's a series of novels. And these have been very successful, particularly for fantasy novels, of which not many are best sellers.
