Considering there's no cinematic replay functionality, it really is. It's a screenshot from the developer.

          Just what does that mean?

You can remove the HUD and disconnect the camera from the player in the game?

No, if you watch the video's above, you can see that they are able to fly around freely and record whatever they want.

Hitting the F12 key will record.

It would appear as if Asher owes Snoopy an apology for his mistake.

Maybe, but I want to see a link of user-created screenshots -- and ones that aren't scaled down from 1/6th of the original resolution.

Screenshots on review sites don't look so hot, and most players are giving it a 7/10 for graphics.

Unsurprisingly, all of the ones that look good on the review sites are without the HUD and were given by the developer. In fact, they look much better than the more recent screenshots on the reviews from the actual review copies. I find it curious.

Downloaded the demo. Graphics are good enough for me (but I'm still playing SoF1, now over seven years old, so I'm not much of a gfx aficionado). The videos provided by Droopy are pretty much how it looks on my computer.

It feels like I'm playing an updated version of Enemy Territory, that is: better. It's still not my cup of tea though. I prefer oldschool style, without classes etc. And why the fack don't they list the # of frags etc in the scorescreen! I want to see how much havoc I'm wreaking in a game!!

Asher you're not posting a screenshot of a guy getting hit and trying to pass it off as just bad graphics are you?

When I get the chance, i'll take some shots of the game and i'll try not to be too biased like the developers (only taking the best possible shots).

Most of the ones in IGN look like that (or worse). Maybe they just really suck?

The graphics aren't that great especially with all the hype mega texture received. I remember how supposedly each pixel or texture etc was hand crafted but in the end it doesn't look that much different unless you actively think about the mountains and compare them to each other. Compared to other games with good graphics like Oblivion you only notice the difference just barely, but you can tell.

That shot posted above is all blurred which isn't normal.

Handcrafted pixels? That doesn't make sense.
Handcrafted textures? I don't think that would be better than using photo's.

I have never heard of "megatextures", but from what I can see, the textures are simply very large in size with very high quality. Hence why the textures folder is over 3gb.

I know, I haven't been in the loop for a while, too busy with my other work.

                              Anyway, I updated myself.

                              From wiki:
MegaTexture refers to a texture allocation technique facilitating the use of an extremely large terrain texture instead of repeating multiple smaller textures. It is featured in Splash Damage's game, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and was developed by id Software technical director John Carmack. [citation needed]

MegaTexture employs a single large texture for static terrain. The texture is stored on the hard disk and streamed as needed, allowing large amounts of detail and variation over a large area with comparatively little RAM usage.[citation needed]

The upcoming game Rage powered by the id Tech 5 engine uses textures that measure up to 128000x128000 pixels

                              =================

128000x128000 is huge, how do they store a file that large and still run smooth? (Appears to be a 45gb file in Photoshop.)
