I agree that holding the cafe staff responsible is a bit of a stretch, but then again they should have probably done something substantive to ensure this guy wasn't posing a threat to his own health. Given this happened in China, it'll be interesting to see how the authorities crackdown (further) on Internet cafes.The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

Sad news but don't see how you can hold cafe owners responsible - I've been to a few of those cafes in Shanghai and many are pretty large. I don't see how at the very least you'd stop people leaving for a minute and returning.Comment

I do not know what the legal term is, but they can definitely see a problem. Even assuming they don't notice that the person has been there for 72 hours straight, a person in such a state of exhaustion will look different.
