I own all the consoles. Eventually a decent exclusive game will come out for it. My SO is also a huge JRPG fan.

How does that make sense as opposed to buying a console after a game that you want comes out for it? You generally seem to be in the habit of owning quite a few products you don't like. You own a PS3 and a Wii, yet you criticize both very strongly.

I collect them all because between my SO and I, we play them all. The money's there, they're really not all that expensive in the long-run. For the PS3, I honestly wouldn't have gotten it had it not been for the Bluray. While I own precisely 2 PS3 games (Resistance and Motorstorm), I've watched probably 20 Bluray movies on it since I've gotten it and have a lot more coming.

I criticize both very strongly because there are some major flaws with each of the consoles, ones that are evident with long-term ownership of both.

I daresay the flaws with the 360 in terms of reliability are pretty undeniable now (though not a problem if youre getting a NEW 360 now, one hopes) and Asher doesnt deny the undeniable.

True, but the 'both' in Asher's statement refers to the Wii and PS3.

You will only get him to criticise the Xbox if you ask a direct question with no wiggle room, enough times so that he can't dodge it.

They still haven't fixed the reliability problems, AFAIK. So the consoles is still a POS. I hope they'll fix the problem when they'll start using the smaller chips.

They fixed the reliability problems a while ago (2 months) with the additional HSF and new motherboard layout.

Not much help if you bought when we did.

My replacement is brand new, so I'm not concerned. My problem was a faulty powersupply (brick) anyway.

My Xbox 360 hasn't died yet.

Mind you, I don't thrash it like some people do. Terrible hardware quality though. Verto's died once already.

You'd think they would have tested the thing before they started selling them.

Testing for long-term reliability of new components is usually quite difficult to do on a new product.

And my PS3 update downloaded in a couple of minutes. Can't see the point in whining.

Then again, all my Xbox 360 updates have been peachy too.

If everyone's update worked as expected, there is no point in whining. The fact is, it didn't for most people -- at least initially.

You suck at tech. That is the problem.
