It's way too easy to score. Either because of terrible keepers (although better than the demo) parrying the shot, or that any good dribbler (Kaka, C.Ronaldo, Messi) can take on the WHOLE team multiple times until you can get a clear shot.

My first season of ML starting with the crap players I've scored 73 in 29 games after I signed some good dribblers mid-season.

If it weren't so easy to dribble past multiple defenders it would be great, as it is it's pretty arcadey.

If you really prefer a simulation I would stick with PES6, or even 5.

08 contains some pretty nice new features though. I put my face on the game but the picture I took was half in shadow so it looks like I'm running around with a burnt face. I imagine if you're playing online 08 would be great, as those games usually degenerate into an arcade style anyway.

As it is, 08 single player I don't know how long it'll last. Right now in my second season of ML (scoring 140 in 38 games last season), I go a couple of goals up then start to show boat and see what kind of goals I can score. In PES6 it was at least a couple of months before I got to this stage, and only fully mastered it after a year.

To be honest, you sound like a 'pro', so I'm sort of following your viewpoint. I only play PES6 when I have nothing to do, and it's still challenging when playing poorer teams in a league (vs all the top teams for example). So if the new version contains cheap dribbling moves I'll stick to PES6, because that's what I found so realistic about the game. It's possible to dribble if mastered carefully, but even then it's nigh impossible to dribble the entire team (in order to create an opening and then scoring a goal). So a little bit of skill is required to win consistently

Anyway, I installed PES 2008. It doesn't like Vista x64 with 4GB of RAM. Online fora advised me to remove 2GB to be able to play

But then I found an unauthorised patch that lets it work, and at a decent res (1280x720). I still miss PES 2007's 1920x1080

Also, it's much harder to tackle teh opponents. And I play a more passing/through ball game, so I don't benefit from teh ease of dribbling. Guess I need to pick that up.

I also need to find a decent option file.

Your players are ****ing idiots now. You move the player close for an easy tackle but he delays it and just sidesteps a slow tackle into empty space where the ball used to be. Actually a lot of player actions are delayed sometimes just to make it harder.

I've just been running into the player with the ball to knock them off balance or just running it off them to get the ball back.

Anyone have both 6 and 2008 on the Xbox 360? I'd like to buy one of these games - preferably the newest - but it seems that it has put a lot of people off.
