There is a fan down the crawlspace that might be tricky, so i would save before attempting it.

I killed a bunch, finally made my way out of the shaft, and reached a maze of twisty little passages, mostly different.

Explored, killed another head crab, and some more soldiers, and gathered ammo.

Not sure how to get out though.

Edit: never mind, I made it through there, got to the scientist who told me what was going on and directed me thru the missile silo and RR, and now Im stuck at the radioactive pool. Damn, this thing is starting to get addictive

Well actually I did it twice, cause the first time id let my health go down farther than necessary, and used more ammo than necessary, to the point where it looked to become a problem. So I went back and did it again.

While Im getting better at the jumping puzzles, I still cant say I much like them. But they detract far less.

Im trying to figure out how best to deal with the tricephalous (?) monster. But tell me one thing, does its health constanly return?

You cant kill it with weapons. You are going to have to sneak past it and acitvate the power and fuel for that thruster hanging from the ceiling. Hold shift to walk...if you make any noise you die. Grenades exploding at the base of the tentacles with suppress the critter

Grenades in other places will also attract the tentacles to that spot.

I actually didn't sneak there, just throw a grenade elsewhere to distract them and run like hell for the doorway I need. Could be done.

I found the easiest way was to make most grenades serve two purposes, after using the first to make it possible to crawl out to the platform.

The second goes towards the boxes blocking the ladder down, while districting 'it' till Im down the first ladder, than a third just to distract, than a fourth to open the doorway, while distracting, than a fifth to distract while I run for the door.

That, more or less, is how I got through. Im not stuck now, but had to leave the game for several days for RL stuff.

Grrrrrr!

So ive gotten to the huge shaft/silo thingies with the big fan. I couldnt figure how to get up, the fan keeps knocking me off when I go back, if I turn it off, i go back, but Im stuck.

I finally checked a walkthrough, and it seems I have to turn the fan on, and then climb back up the ladder BEFORE the fan really gets going. Ive tried several times, and have yet to succeed. I am not enjoying this aspect of it.

IIRC you can go up the ladder backwards if you cant get turned around fast enough(just hit the button and back straight up)

Well if everything in the game were easy it wouldn't be satisfying when you finally win.
