Thats where Im stuck. I found a passageway beyond the propeller, that led me to a room with more grenades (which helped, as I used a couple to deal with face huggers from the catwalk/beam thingie) and some health. But now it looks like the only way upward, or forward, is this broken elevator shaft. Another jumping/climbing puzzle? Or a way I missed?

Can you make the jump across to the ladder? There is one bit like that around where you are.

I managed to make the jump to the ladder, and then to go up ladder by ladder to the top of the shaft, and then even the difficult jump to the ladder takes you on top of the lift (yes, we would say lift on this side of the pond for something as rough looking as that, not a proper elevator - at least I would)

But then there was no place to go.

I lost that quick save, as I tried going back down to see if there was anyplace Id overlooked. There wasnt, and no way down the shaft, either. So Im still stumped. (if the shaft is a dead end, ive still got an earlier save - I cant believe something this complex, including a scripted fall by a scientist hanging from the list, is a complete dead end, though)

IIRC there's a broken ladder at the top of the shaft you have to jump on. The scientist that fell down was supposed to give you a hint because he tried to do the same thing. It requires delicate timing but it can be done.

Yeah, I finally made it back to the top of the lift again. This time I was more lucky pixel hunting on the top vent, and managed to crack it open, get into the lift, and to the next area. I've gotten into the high security storage, and am doing alot of saving and reloading as I refine my approach to the turrets.

Ive gotten to the room with 4 "turrets" (those automatic machine guns on tripods, right?)

Ive gotten ALL of them with grenades. But I cant get through, cause I cant manage the stupid jumping exerciese to get over the immovable green crates. I get up all but the last. Im tired of trying over and over again.

Don't know if it's the solution to this situation but you can jump higher&further if you run and hit crouch right before you hit jump.
