Well I got forcibly reminded the perils of poor gear when I got repeatedly face splatted in the new instance and got rejected from my own guild's Kara raid all in the same night.

Don't be sucked into the trap of doing PvP to get gear for PvE. Sure, you can get PURPLE ITEMZ, but you can get much better blues from heroic dungeons. Do heroics. Do the daily heroic every day. Get badges. Badge loot is awesome.

My view is that early respecs are very cheap, and by not using your talent points you lose out on far far more gold by killing slower.

I think you are extremely weak by not using your talent points. In fact, it is like running around with greys.

I can get most of that easily right now (Except for the one tied to The Sha'tar I think). It also looks better than what I have. I have to thank the IRL person that suggested checking those quartermasters on wowhead.

And I do realize, and it has harmed me in many ways

Right now my Druid is level 60, and far behind comparable characters in most every way (equipment, money, etc) likely in part due to my laziness, and in part because I haven't spent all my talent points (wait, am I repeating myself? ).

My last talent point spent was at level 39 I think, and my character really sucks as a result I was standing next to a rogue while waiting for a boat yesterday, and compared equipment, and his exceeded or equaled mine in every category, in many cases far exceeded. I have to suspect that by using my talent points I might have had more luck completing quests which would have led to higher/better everything by now.

Oh well, live and learn.

I still have my other 4 characters, all level 35, none of whom has spent a talent point period. Not sure where to start if I did, though I have read plently on calculators and sites with different builds.

Just grab +damage stuff while levelling. Don't worry about a build. Pile on the hurt. You'll level way faster.

What do you guys think of this: Dreadweave Battlegear?

If you want to START PvP, this is okish beginner gear (you'll still get mashed, but at least you won't get stomped). For PvE you'll miss spell damage and spell hit rating and crit rating. Look at the stats - the gear is covered in +Stamina and +Resiliance. If you're getting hit in PvE, you need to check what the hell your tank is doing.

Feral leveling speced Druid without mangle is probably 20% worse then feral spec leveling Druid with mangle.

It is that good. The other talents probably just improve you by 0-3% tops. Note that that is still a lot of improvement for the 20 talent points that aren't mangle that you are missing.

Note that you would make the cost to respec back in just a couple of horus if you had a 20% improvement. It really is just not knowing the game or stupidity to not use your talent points, even the worst talent setup isn't going to cost you much. The only time it costs you is if you are below level 70 and you decide to change your spec every day (or if you are below level 60 and decide to change every week).

I just started playing WoW again after a few months hiatus, decided to make a paladin.

My paladin is up to level 50 now and one of the alts I most enjoy playing though the lack of ranged attack is frustrating at times.

How do you like it?

I have a level 50 pally alt. Crusader Strike has re-awakened my interest in the character, the fights were starting to get rather slow. At level 50 Crusader Strike is totally broken, basically doubled my dps.
