  • Further promotions will require more friends, so you will have to create more families (or more people within your own family) to progress. Which itself is another retarded limitation of the game.

As for the one douche bag in your neighborhood who won't bite, there is probably one interaction that will always give a positive modifier without fail. Just repeat it endlessly.

Which Ive already mentioned in my post.

Its retarded now cause its too HARD

Maybe. If so youre comment about it being "retarded" would be close to the mark. OTOH maybe theres some subtle, patient strategy involved. I dont know. It doesnt seem like you do, either.

No, you did not. To progress to the high levels of the career, you will need to edit in more families or stay stuck. They will require a lot more **** buddies/friends/etc.

Wow. You simply hit "Talk" or "Compliment" or something that works 50 times. It isn't subtle, it's guesswork.

When taking a break from homework, POTM hinted there are ways of dealing with that, but never finished telling me what those were.
Is she always this coy? Creepy.

"(excluding the exploit of simply creating ANOTHER new family)."

Which is it wiggy? Frank M wont even come over, and wont talk on the phone. Do I have to get something he likes, a swimming pool or pinball game maybe, to get him to come over?

She wasnt coy, the conversation moved on. You ought to try non-obsessive real world conversations.

It isn't an exploit, it's a flaw in the game. You need to have a lot of people in a neighborhood to get promotions past the initial levels.

The game determines whether or not people come over based upon random chance and their current relationship to you. Whether or not people respond positively to specific interactions has a similar random component, and is also dictated by the desires of a particular sim.

Once you figure out that a sim likes compliments, or hugs, or whatever, you simply repeat that interaction endlessly. What strategy.

If some girl refused to answer my questions I would ask her again.

But I was referring to the situation where there ARE enough people in the neighborhood for a particular promotion, but one won't interact.

Okay, so if I call Frank enough times, eventually he WILL come over? Thanks, good thing we have someone here who's played the game enough to know that.

But not if it was a boy? How odd.

Anyway, I didnt ask her how to do it, just mentioned the problem, and she mentioned in passing that were things you could do, then somehow the conversation shifted, I dont know, either QOTM said something, or POTM asked me about Crusader Kings, or we talked about good dinner was, or whatever.

              Real life is like that.

You are so pompous. How can you not realize how annoying you are? It's pretty obvious at this point. At least you aren't assailing me by moaning on about jewish crap.

And yes, I'm right. There is no secret trick to getting fake people to come over to your fake house. The game just sucks.

I can at least agree that rehashing the same arguments about it is boring.

                      • Then stop making posts that start "ok, so about this non-challenging thing." and then make a lame argument about how immensely difficult it is for you to make friends with some fake sim douchebag who randomly won't respond to your interactions with him.

I thought we might get some new stuff out of that, not just a rehash. We actually DID get some new stuff, amidst the usual rehash.

                          • I agree with Wiglaf on the lack of challenge part, in the first The Sims game it's quite hard to set up a difficult challenge, as all goals you set can be reached given enough time. The Sims 2 is a tiny bit better in that department, as here there's a time limit
But it can still be fun from time to time. Why it can be fun still puzzles me though, but for some weird reason it is. I still prefer to nuke Montezumas cities to pieces in Civ IV than to order some sim to cook dinner for her lesbian friends
This space is empty... or is it?
