Works in this game too. But even they are sometimes hard to kill if the assassin is a noob.

      • It's very similar to Rome Total War, and plays nothing like Age of Empires at all. The only "real-time" element to the game is the battles, and I like these a lot better than most RTS games out there. The campaign is turn based, where you recruit troops to go in your armies, build structures in your settlements to do things for you, and move your armies around to defend the territory you have and capture territory from the enemy. When two (or more) armies clash, then it goes down to a battle map where you have a real-time fight between those armies.
Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

        • They've been a good solid part of my historic strat gaming diet since the first one(ShogunTW). And none of them are like AoE - or other typical RTS type games in the way they play.

While i always enjoyed/didnt mind the rts combat sections, it was the combination of the tbs/building portion that made these games essential for me; if they were just rts in nature i would have got bored with the 'fast click' syndrome that would have ensued. All of them are great and worth playing imho - shogun has a great 'samurai' flavour.

            • Need help please

I have tried for 6 tries of installing and uninstalling, cleaned disc off and still get this message:

The software you are installing has not passed the Windows Logo to verify its compatability with Windows XP.
The software wil not be installed. Contact your system administrator.

This is the first game I have had this appear on an install. Even Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Micfosoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 Battle for Europe installed and worked fine

I have a brand new PC

HP Pavillion Media Center m7690n TV PC
              500 Gig HD
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400
              4 GIGS RAM
              WINXP
              Radeon X1600 512 Graphics Card

What should I do, as a now Grumpee Gramps, I need assistance.

              Thanks

I went to Best Buy, bought the best on the floor, added the Graphics Card, increased the Power Supply, Fan and purchased a Total of 4 Gigs (2 2 gig sticks ) online plus the 2 1 stick RAM included with it for a total of 6, although only 3.5 show up until I do a free upgrade to Vista.

Its sweet indeed, around $ 3500.00 with a few extra bells and whistles.

                      I just couldn't resist

I think the XP Logo issue should not be a force issue - ie it shouldn't force you not to install it. I'd go to the manufacturer's help site and see what it says.

                          • That is the MS answer to your problem, though it's generic and complex. Method 6 or 7 should be the best ones for you I think.

                            • Another option (same idea as the MS one, but perhaps easier to read): http://www.jsifaq.com/SF/Tips/Tip.aspx?id=6571

                              • Ahh, here we go.
You have non-approved installs disabled. Go to the Hardware tab of the System control panel, under Driver Signing.
That's the easiest fix, if it's the case. If it says "Blocked", change that to "Warn" or "Ignore". If it already shows Warn or Ignore, then it's probably the Cryptographic issue, but to me this makes a lot more sense, as that is more of a kernel protection from what I recall.
