    Oh, also I was talking about the original rogue. In other variants there are probably more ways to get food. For example in moria you can buy from the general store, so it's not a big problem. So the best ring is a ring of speed instead.

      Playing Angband for a week. Addicted. After a few quick loses learned to move very carefully and to have a couple of emergency run items (cure potion and phase door). Now at level 32 dungeon, level 30 hero, warrior. Killing trollish vaults, sometimes getting cool items for that. Sadly most of the items are weapons and I already have Angrist, that I use.

        By the way, I heard that in Angband mages are hard to start, but better at the end. What level do I need to reach to have mage as potent as warrior?
