I'd recommend building your own and saving a packet.

Only if you feel comfortable building it. I didn't want to take the chance and totally screw up

It's really pretty easy, and there are plenty of good guides online.

Which don't help a great deal if you have only one computer and are upgrading it.
But yes, building your own computer is easy.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

It isn't when you found out what the heck SLI is when you started looking to buy a new computer .

Eh, SLI is not useful ATM anyway, just go with a better card. It's not 2x as expensive for the better card ATM.

But you want a motherboard that is SLI enabled for future upgrades (I ain't going to buy a computer for just 2 years or anything).

                  I got a GeForce 7800 GT card anyway .

I have one Honestly it probably doesn't matter for "future", IMO by the time it's relevant they'll probably have one or two upgrades over PCIe anyway; the only advantage is a somewhat cheaper upgrade (you can buy a second cheaper card instead of buying an expensive new one)...

Anyways, I got Velocity Micro to build me one... Very satisfied so far .

That, and they are apparently good at overclocking, which I probably wouldn't have the slightest idea how to do.

Just saw a video on IGN... and the characters were riding HORSES... and talking to another guy on a horse the other way. YAY! Should be much better than walking everywhere

I'm going to do that. Probably an asus A8N-E MB (no sli), some value 2 Gb ram and a too expensive video card, likely a 7800gt. And this time a decent not too noisy PSU. Not sure about the CPU yet, dual core or not?

All those questions. The advantage of not building myself is that I most likely already would have bought one..

                                And probably no need either.
