I agree with joncha. I personally think it's absurd to count ANODE as a guess (indeed, I don't see anything wrong with being able to edit guesses as long as no new posts have been made), but if we do count it, we have to count Jamski's ABODE.

I was going to contridict you, but on further review of Chapter 11, Verse 2 Paragraph 6 subsection 4, point #3 I see that you are correct, while fishsticks correctly posted a bolded word that wasn't edited it doesn't in fact count as a guess as it was in invalid word based upon the guesses already made and you are quite correct to ignore it

Now if we could just find someone to post a valid guess! (oops, almost bolded valid instead of italicizing it!! Wouldn't that have been quite the faux paux).

For what it's worth I think that Jamsticks should have been let off. However, if I were Joncha and accepted the rule against my guess I'd feel annoyed too.

So, I guess we have to treat both the same and accept both guesses as eliminating the player involved. That is what the rules clearly say, and in any unclear situation they should be followed.

For the future I would reiterate my oft-expressed belief that immediate edits for crossposts/bolding/typos should be allowed. Granted this allows some small potential for mischief, but I think it's the lesser of two evils.
