  • I've got more than enough deut too, so name your price.
Were you suggesting 1 deut for 4 metal? I think I'll keep a small reserve, and send some to my colony, but can still let you have 75k.

        • I'm not to worried about my planet sizes (although 40 is reaaally small).
My main planet has still under 90 fields developped. And that's the planet with the research facility etc.
The prohibiting costs of anything over level 15 will make expansion slow. It will be a looong time before any planet will reach 100 fields I guess.

edit: I must say that it appears I have been lucky with planets:

          main: 163 fields, 87 used
          2nd: 119/70
          3rd: 79/64
          4th: 121/69
          5th: 180/60
          6th: 144/61
          7th: 270/64
          8th: 94/60
          9th: 152/41

          • Lots of people are saying they are kicking themselves for not getting bigger colonies before they built them up. Personally, I have colonies size 107 and up, but now I'm trying for bigger ones. May as well.

I'm not sure if I will still be around when it will take a week to build my level 34 Mine

I will however first expand my bigger colonies. I can always ditch the others later. So far they have been very usefull.

In other news: I'll probably only continue playing the game in the weekends. During the week I'll be in vacation mode.

I'm too busy during the week to be really active on Ogame, but I have found that even the few orders I give during the week are useful to build up my infrastructure and research.

I'd advise you just to keep quiet during the week (so that no enemy is drawn to you), and just build/research a few things that take days to be complete.

It's better than merely letting all those days go to waste.

                • You risk somone with a bigger fleet crashing yours and recycling them though. In vacation mode at least they are safe. But far-galaxy colonies are somewhat safe for deploying fleets to for a long time.

                  • Thanks for the input, but I have too big a fleet to have it floating around.

I also get regularly scanned by ranks #500 to #1000, they know I'm a juicy target.

The only alternative would be to find routes that take 24 hours to run at 10% and hope that my Deut production is bigger then what I burn.

The risk of fleetsaving using attacks are too big for a 24 hour strategy. I have had once that my fleet returned empty because while it was flying the target-planet got deleted.
No loot wasn't the problem, but that my fleet returned 3 hours early would certainly have messed things up if it was carrying 300k recources

                    • Well I fleetsave by attacking a useless target with ships carrying all of my resources. If Spiffor's got a colony in the middle of nowhere, then this could prove useful to us because he might be willing to provide us with scans of planets we could raid for no losses. Out there, you could easily fleetsave at a small percentage with no danger to all of your resources.

If that is a response to my post, I probably wasn't clear.

I attacked a target who wasn't even an inactive.
The planet got deleted, thus the fleet returns AHEAD of schedule.

Now, this can happen to any planet, and especially so to iI's.

I wouldn't want my fleet with my saved recources to return early and have it sitting around for 18 hours...

                        • No, attack a useless, active planet, not an (i) or (iI) one.
That way you won't get many resources out of it, but you'll be able to send all your large cargoes out against their no defenses (or small, with a few heavy ships) at no risk, and the guarantee that they'll return, having taken ages to get there and back.

Do you still want 75k of metal.
Otherwise, I'll just have to build useless stuff with it.

                          • You would want to attack an (i) as they can't delete their own planets without being online, and the game wont delete them before they become (iI). Attacking an active player with something like 24 hours notice is not quite what I'd describe as "no risk".

                            • I just set up a colony in galaxy 5. It will take my fleet over 39 hours to get there at 10% speed
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
                              Once again...

Pffft. That depends on whether they've got decent techs and enough resources to make something worthwhile of them or not. I agree with the (i) thing though.

I've just sent my first raids out from my colony.
