  • contrary to what I thought (or was meant to beleive ) the galaxy screen doesn´t show all activity on a planet.

Uh, maybe a dumb question, but how do you tell if there is activity from the galaxy screen?
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
    Once again...

    • If there is a number (like 34 minutes) next to a planet, it shows fleet activity on the planet.
A "*" symbol denotes an espionage mission has taken place there recently.

I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Ah, that explaines some of it.

As far as I understand, the asterix denotes any (fleet) activity, not specifically an espionage mission.

        • This one explains it nicely, I think.

) that planet was attacked, scanned, transported to, etc
          2) the player has clicked "overview" "buildings" "research" or any other link involving that planet. If there is a moon on that planet and the buttons are clicked on the moon, no asterisk or countdown timer starts.

Also, an asterisk means there has been activity (as described above) within the past 15 minutes.

          • Which is a very good reason not having planets all in the same system. As you can see here, it is likely that someone has gone to sleep almost an hour ago. Hopefully that means my attack will go as planned.

Well, to me that sounds that if a player has been active in any way (except his moon) this will show up in the galaxy.
If his planet has been messed with by others, this will also show up.

But I can now say that if a building queue is running, you won´t spot it.

In addition I can tell y´all that the ´sign´ only lasts for 1 hour: the first 15 minutes an asterisk, after that the elapsed time shows.

                • Hehe, just sent my colony ship to the 5:232 system. It should only take 11 hours and 6k deuterium for it to arrive

                  • But once it's there it's on its own.

germanos, I don't need your loan of crystal any more - I found that I had plenty to start research. Mind you, I have to wait for 26 hours until it finishes!

I've got 112k of metal surplus now if you still want some.

                    • I've just noticed that the WoF alliance is no more. There is no reason for me to attack that inactive, who was formerly allied with Droth.

Too bad, my fleet is sent already

                      • BTW, is it possible to surrender one's home base?

Ideally, once I've set up my utopia in that deserted system, I'd like to make a completye exodus there. I know I can surrender my two current colonies, but will I be able to surrender my home base as well, or will I be stuck with it?

                          • The best bet is to find someone close to you so that you give them the least possible time to respond. I've yet to find a decent target that will be taken with 30 battleships and no losses on my side while still giving nice returns.

You can surrender any colony except your homebase. You are stuck with it forever. If you could get a new one, people would always ditch it so they could get a much bigger planet.

                            • Oh well, I guess it's worth continuing investing in its infrastructure then

Even if my hom planet will be isolated from the rest of my empire, it can still be a nice place to do research, and to concentrate milk in .
