how can you afford the crystal for all this scanning?
i'm finally getting impulse 3 now, so should have a colony ship before the day is out, not really sure how to use colonies though, will have to read up. gonna carry raiding inactives for a while, then think about building up my fleet. i wanna get crusiers, but they seem a long way off.
i'm getting scanned a lot by the guy in my galaxy who attacked me, but i don't he's going to have anything that can overcome 30 missle launchers for a while yet.

Probes cost 1000 crystal. If the espionage mission is a success, it returns. Each scan costs me roughly 3 deuterium total. While specialising is a good idea, probes are a necessary unit. They are (relatively) cheap and can prevent an attack you launched being surprised by someone waking up and building defences before you arrive.
