      Downloading the demo now.
The last Champ Manager I played was something like 99-00. I remember that Roman Riquelme was (a) really bloody good, and (b) astoundingly cheap. I bet he costs a fortune now though.

[Edit]: Aren't I good? I didn't bother posting again to tell you all that it has now downloaded (well, a while ago actually), and I'll bring back comments once I've played a little. Souness - your job is on the line!

Bugger it, I'll make another post then.
        This game is fun!
I thrashed some Greek team in the UEFA Cup, but still lost 2-1 to Liverpool, with a flukey deflection.
I'm only glad I haven't got the whole thing, or else I'd be ringing in sick tomorrow. BTW, Robinho's not worth £8m.

Ugh, they don't have FM2005 here. Maybe I'll order online...

they banned FM 2005 in china because it treats taiwan as a seperate country (i'm not joking), i don't know if SI have changed it for you lot.

and football manager is a great game, but it does help if you know a bit about football when you play

I've only just started CM03-04... is it really worth the upgrade ? I always play lower league (in case that makes a difference)

FM05-06 will be coming out in October/November so probably not worth it yet.

That's the thing with this genre - there is always a new version that adds a couple of features for you to spend your money on.

                      Spend....... money

I usually buy the last in the series of updates because its the only one worth keeping. I still play CM01-02 (CM3 series) and CM97-98 (CM2) on crappy computers sometimes.

Bloody hell. I know that it was only a demo, but it kicked me out with my Celtic team miles clear in the league, heading out of the Big Cup on their way to the UEFA Cup, and generally kicking ass (well, apart from Juve and Arsenal). I'd got to the second transfer window, with Freddy Adu and Franck de Boer ready to come oon board, and all I got was a pop-up telling me thanks for playing.
But I know if I buy the real one, it will suck the life out of me.

Ive gone off it again for a bit... just seems like you have to put so much time in, to get very little out. Although I do always enjoy what I get out.

                          I was talking about FM.

                            Obviously.

I was gutted it wasn't a full season. I reasoned that since I couldn't sign playrs from the Argentina U-21 side then maybe it would go on for a season, but no.

This is exactly my concern right now. I am afraid I won't have time for anything else, and may even hog Wintel box, resulting in me being thrown about.
