I didn't realise that the limits to choose feats depended on your starting stats, because I was wearing a +4 INT helmet and crossing my fingers for Expertise. Never mind, I'm just about to start HotU with a longsword master unashamedly ripped off the cookery master. It means that I get the feats earlier, and I'm hoping that I'll get better magical weapons to counteract the lack of critical breadth the cookery enjoys. Here goes anyway...
Report back on Tuesday when I have to go to work (and school) again.
I am also very tempted to get involved with the toolset, and think that it would be great if a group could recreate the original BG world for NWN.
You'd need to mix things up, of course, or else people who'd played both would just get complacent and know what was coming up.

I think the two best choices are Greatsword master or kukri (or other crit based - kukris are rare) master with dual wield. With longsword master you start well (and can use a shield) but later you are not as strong as the other choices.Comment

I've started a greatsword fighter/wm for greatsword. Plus he's an ogre and can use a shield too
Kukri's don't seem that rare to me, I've found lots of +3 ones. Unless you mean good kukris.Comment

Well he said for HotU. And +3's are only competitive compared to what other builds have up to level 20 or so on Folderol anyway (caveat of few months away).

There are some AWESOME kukris (+5, bonus damage etc) in the next Folderolupdate which should be finally installed any moment now. In fact I'll go and check it.
BG in NWN I'm sure that would be a VERY popular module except it would violate so many copyrights...

The update is done Me and Mr ColdWizard spent an entertaining 3 hours or so testing, and only found 2 bugs, that'll be fixed by tommorrow, and I picked up a lovely kukri from a Kobold Slicer-Dicer's corpse
Loads of new blunt weapons in Dwar Proper too, and I've gotta track down what the other two have been adding. Some more AI tweaks I think.
