That poll is flawed...
2. What is your gaming platform of choice (aside from the PC)?
None! PC is the only true way. But there is no such answer. So I had to go with handheld, as that is as far from the evil of consoles as it gets from the choices presented.

I went with cell phones, because I have at one time actually played a cell phone game in the last 5 years. Where as I haven't played a console or handheld console in the past 5 years. although, now that I think of it, that's not true. I did play my brother's x-box once.

I went for something new, trying to run on old glory will only get you so far.Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Originality
Remakes
Reusing concepts that worked from such greats as Col or MoM or what-not is one thing, but remaking them... That's just depending on the name to get publicity and that's never a good thing. Get publicity through your own great game design, not through an old game's big name.

Though in this case I voted for Colonization 2, even though I haven't really played the first game*
The reason is that I would really love to see a good game that takes place in the time from discovering the new world to... sometime later. There haven't been many good games about this theme for a long time (or maybe I just missed them?)
* kept crashing on my Amiga, and it's always diffecult to get "into" an old game if you haven't played it beforeThis space is empty... or is it?

I like Conquest of the New World, but it's interface is getting old
Imperialism and Victoria I've never heard about
EU2 I've tried, but that ones not really what I'm looking for since I prefer starting from scratch instead of starting with an already developed countryThis space is empty... or is it?
