There are two main starting spots, one in the North and one in the South.
You mean for the Americas map? I always played on random map... Don't know why really.

It's just hard to make out the terrain. Perhaps I need to change my screen resolution. I get these popups that tell me that this isn't a good place to settle, but all the terrain looks the same to me.Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. I dont know why, but I always loved playing the america map!
This thread inspired me to have another crack at Col. A couple of lucky rumours and I got my very own shiny new galeon by the time I had about 10 pop. Im keeping the Indians sweet, and trying to get to the founding fathers I want as quick as I can. Then its Indian smashing time
Many moons ago (no doubt in an old pre-patch pre-internet version) I remember a bug where you could still sell goods in europe even if you held a 'tea party' every time tax was demanded. I tried what I thought the bug was, but cant get it to work
For terrain press 'v' to get the little flashing box up, then click on the terrain. the box on the right will tell you what type itis, then you can look it up in the pedia. I dont know a more graceful way of doing it thoughSafer worlds through superior firepower

BKeela, do you really mean Intergalactic, like Andromeda and, to some degree I think, Stargate, or Interstellar, like Star Trek, Star Wars, and GalCiv? Intergalactic would be an incredibly grand scale, but sounds interesting. Maybe limit it to the Local Group, but the whole universe could be cool too. Still, the individual galaxies would probably have to be incredibly "small".

Is this abandon ware yet?
The games above will play on my P-3 600 Wins 98 but without sound.
My P-4 1.6 gig, XP will play CTP, and CTP 2, but my new P-4 2.8 XP will not load CTP, and will not play CTP 2.

Dissident, you can get manual from that site with stukas.
But playing it doesn't really require a manual if you're familiar with Civ. Just read the pop-up windows and you should be fine. The main difference with Civ is that you'll have to micromanage the production of each "city" by setting them to produce different things in the city window.
