Despite a fall from power and a collapse of industry, Emperor Naviwinat still held a prominent place in galactic politics. And with prominence came enemies.
The Stardust Liberation Army, the anarchist successors to what had once been a bunch of irrelevant peaceniks, had built up a sizeable military and were now expanding from mere guerilla warfare into sophisticated special operations.
It was under such an operation that an eco-freedom fighter infiltrated the main refinery at Arrakis with a plot to blast the storage tanks and strand the Imperial Fleet at home where it could be cut to pieces.
The paranoid Emperor had forseen such a possibility though, and his squad of crack troopers made short work of the Stardust agent, and he managed to get his fleet moving off to battle.Visit First Cultural Industries

Velvet Revolution
Here is something to think about
I returned, I saw, I conquered
The citizens of the Empire grew quite worried as news of the foiled mission got out. Someone had tried to trap the fleet, a likely sign that an attack was incoming. The spy plot was stopped- however, the fleet was still coming, and now there was not a single ship in port to defend against it.
Nontheless, Coruscant was still quite surprised when the attack came, as the ships were bearing the markings not of the Stardust Liberation Army but of Senator Danq's Fleet of the Republic.
