Here is something to think about

The Emperor laughed loudly as he watched the news of his attackers mulling around confused at Coruscant. "They thought they could stop me, but no one stops the Emperor."

This time, the giant fleet was aimed at the mechanical worlds of Colony I, where Naviiwinat hoped to loot some more industrial capacity.

However, it turned out he'd made the wrong move, what he encountered instead of an unguarded base or an easily killed fleet, was a shield. With the size of his fleet, damage was substantial, with the torpedoes taking the brunt of the impact.

Fog of War

Here is something to think about
Shoot first, ask questions later

In the past, alliances were a death sentence even the most powerful owners of large empires. Over the years, dozens of allied attacks crushed the opposition, to the point that most preferred to either fire a few lasers and run, or stay on the run altogether.

With the difficulties of interstellar communication compounded by war, to say nothing of ulterior motives, however, it was only a matter of time before an alliance misfired.

Such was the case with rumors of alliances on internets concerning Lord Vetko, Cosmos Stardust, and Senator Danq.

It seems that they screwed up, whatever happened. It certainly wasn't an ubersuccessful attack.

It was not exactly a few lasers. 50 bp of ships was at the time over 1/3 of the average fleet size.

They told Ljube that they would attack, all three, together, and keep Jamski home with a spy. Then Sparrow sent the spy at Jamski to keep his fleet at home, and Sparrow and Nuclear stayed at home, leaving ljube to fight alone and be destroyed by Jamski.
