Speaking of MMORPGs, has anyone played The Saga Of Ryzom since it came out non-beta? I played it extensively in beta, and it was ok, but not perfect ... curious if it's improved or not now that it's pay

I might actually consider playing this again if I could find a good guild.
I had a hard time finding good parties. some of the parties just let me die (I was playing a barbarian at the time).
I did have a better experience playing as a priest. I'm pretty good at healing people. But I still lost interest. Even though I did find parties when I was a priest (everyone always looks for a priest for their party, so it's real easy finding one).
The single player game is worthless in my opinion. I wouldn't play it for that reason. There are some things just too tough for single players.
But even when I was in parties, I wasn't happy with their performance. What can I say, I prefer the single player experience. I like to go at my own pace. Parties either go too slow or too fast for my tastes .
You played for the first month after release, I remember. The game has matured a lot since then, and a lot of attention has been paid into content for solo adventurers and small groups. Even instanced dungeons for soloers exist now. And a lot of jerks and 1337 d00ds, that infested all servers at this time, is thank God gone to World of Warcraft now, so the ratio of mature, serious players has significantly increased.
At the time you played, only a few guilds existed at all. Now there are a lot of guilds, recruiting people of all levels. Should you decide to start over at Lucan DLere again, I could recommend you a few good ones.
poor graphics, is a little intensive (WoW is not, EQ2 is medium), most quests get boring....
I think EQ2 is probably the better game, but two of my RL freinds are still palying AO (and I have more in games ferinds in OA) so when it came time to quit playing one I picke d EQ2
I will probalby try MEO later...

(combat is also more fun in EQ2, it is the funnest in CoH though... which I got bored of the quickest)
(best PvP, that I have played, is AO, where you fight over land and the two sides are very much at odds...)

I need a game where levels are either irrelevant or quickly gained ... perhaps one where you have a low maximum level of character, but can start many characters, and are playing for something other than experience (gold, items, etc.) ... but that will be a long time coming sadly.
My analysis above notwithstanding, if I had to decide today between EQ2 and WoW, it would be WoW. Not because it's the clearly better game. Both of them are excellent. But as opposed to Blizzard's, Sony's customer support sucks horribly. It is even worse than Firaxis' and this means a lot.
Yes that's a commonly held belief (well not the bit about Firaxis, as most MMORPGers are not known for their love of Civ). Blizzard are great, though still getting some flak for underestimating the demand upon release.

No interated graphics, then, I take it Just as well

The majority of the roleplaying community wants PvP-RP servers. (If there is a roleplaying community anymore, anyways.)
There was a huge thread started as a petition when the game was released - it quickly became the largest and most replied to thread, even more-so than stickied blizzard threads. And all they did was lock it.
