What do you know, an update! And on Monday, just like I promised!
I'd prefer that you'd mostly use PM's in this game, I think most of the fun comes from having no idea what kind of cunning plans the others are initiating. But if you ask a question or commit an action in this thread, I'll take care of it in this thread.
So, what can you do in this game? Pretty much anything what you could do if you'd be the leader of your selected nation, really. The first thing you most likely want to do is change your game name from the default one, which comes from real world. Remember, you can commit fifteen actions during a turn (reactions to emergency situations don't count).
Please note that you are the leaders of your nation, not necessarily dictators. While this doesn't mean much to some players (Jamski), it ties almost all the hands of others when it comes to decision-making (gjramsey). Of course, you can try to fix your position with rogue schemes if you want more power within your own nation. Don't worry, there's no way you're going to get booted from your already existing position of power, I as a GM just won't let it happen
If any of you have any questions about the state of your nation (or what your national intelligence agency knows of other nations), go ahead and ask.
First turn takes 72 hours, you have 36 hours before phase 2.
