OOC: Really? I thought it was the other way around too. That means the regular vampire would die trying to drink blood from the head vampire? Then I guess Nikolai probably isn't the head vampire since he wouldn't play with his disciple like that. Can I undo my vote?Be good, and if at first you don't succeed, perhaps failure will be back in fashion soon. -- teh Spamski

The rule above seems only reasonable to me, especially because even if the vampire knows the head vampire's identity he will rarely find him in his room, like Snowflake says.
However, the real question at hand is, why did Dr Spike die? Who is it he was trying to bite and couldn't? Or maybe he didn't try to bite anyone? Answer that, and you will very nearly have your lives saved.

OOC: How long is the voting period this time? 48 hours?

"Doctor Smith?"
"Yes, Father?"
"I wondered... Would it be possible for me to get a book I have in my house, brought here? I think it might prove useful under the current situation... And I understand we are not to leave this building, so..."
"What kind of book is this?" the doctor asked.
"Well... It's a book I got from a friend right after my borther's demise. It's about various unnatural phenomenons, including vampires. How they are, react, how to try to deal with them, such things. You see, I am quite sure this is what we are dealing with now."
Smith sighed.
"My dear Father, I can assure you that these deaths will prove to have been of natural cases. It's nothing to worry about. But if you really want this book, I won't stop you. I'll arrange it tonight. OK?"
"Thank you, it's quite all right." the priest said.
"But I wouldn't be too sure about these 'natural deaths' if I was you..."

OOC: I'm still dithering about my next post, since it'll be a long one.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Theben stood alone in the darkness. His view was thru a thick black mist- he could see object beyond but couldn't make out anything definite. He heard voices around him... one was definitely that of a woman, though he did not recognize the voice. Soon it faded away, replaced with the leering face of a man. Yet another came before him... strange that they seem so familiar...
Theben lurched forward in the bed with a start. He felt his forehead, and it was drenched in sweat, as were his clothes. The events of yesterday had exhausted him, which made sleep come mercifully quick for a change.
"But at a price," he said to no one in particular.
"Sir?" Theben recognized the nurse attendant. "Are you okay? The data indicates you were having some trouble sleeping."
"Just the data only?"
"Well, that and the fact you were tossing and turning for half the night. Still, we have some interesting information from your readings. I think Dr. Smith will be very pleased with the findings, once we interpret them. It seems that the person across from you had a similar, though less intense, sleep pattern as you did, at about the same time."
"You mean problems sleeping? He probably heard my snoring."
"You didn't snore, at least last night anyway," laughed the nurse. "Drs. Vovan and Smith thought you might have been a good subject for this experiment when it started."
"Ah, so they saw my comatose leadership potential? I didn't realize I was so influential when asleep. Maybe that's what's wrong in my lectures. I'm awake and the students are asleep."
"Speaking of lectures, you might want to get ready for your next one," she chuckled. "It's almost 6:30." Then her face turned somber.
"There's been another death. DrSpike died last night."
"What!? When? How?"
"I don't know, sir. Someone said that it looks to be due to severe dehydration." The nurse finshed removing the sensors and equipment. "Take care, sir." She then departed and closed the door behind her.
Theben sat up slowly, massaging his neck and shoulders. He felt stiff all over. "Can't wait until this is over with, and get back into a real bed," he thought.
His mind wandered to his last meeting with DrSpike, in the orientation. He certainly looked healthy then. Any signs of dehydration, especially severe, would have shown. No, that can't be it. There has to be another explanation. Then the rumors came back to his mind.
No, that can't be it. It's ridiculous! Stories and old wives tales have no place in our modern era. Theben tried to reassure himself, but even he wasn't immune to wild theories when the unknown was staring him in the face.
Despite the stiffness and night terror, Theben felt better than he had in awhile. He got up, got dressed, and then looked around the lab. Last one out.
"Back to the slave mines." He departed and went to get ready for his lectures, but updated his planner went he got home.
1 pm. Go talk to father Nikolai.I'm consitently stupid- Japher

Hercules is the head vampire, that's why his reading is strange. He moved in with gamecube and made him a new vampire. DrSpike targeted gamecube or Hercules himself, but couldn't because these two were staying together. It'll be interesting to see who's sleeping with who tonight ...Be good, and if at first you don't succeed, perhaps failure will be back in fashion soon. -- teh Spamski

OOC: vovan: We're in an experiment that would be messed up if we were to go whereever we want, that's why.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Father Nikolai sat in a chair, half sleeping, when someone suddenly called his name.
"Wh....at?" he mumbled.
"Oh, miss Snowflake! How do you do?"
Snowflake moved uneasy, and told the priest of her suspicions.
"What do you think?" she said.
"I....don't know, but it's certainly not worse than any other accusation, I've heard enough of them the last hours."
He shrugged.
"This is bringing out the worst in all of us, that's for sure..."
"But....do you think we should act upon this?" Miss Snowflake said uneasy.
The Father looked at her. A moment he thought he saw a red glow in her eyes. Could it? No, it must have been a mistake. Such a nice and charming young woman...
"Act? Do you mean... Kill the ones we suspect?"
"That would be the only reason I think." she said.
"But....kill? I am a man of God, I..."
"What did you want to do last night, when you wanted us to vote, then?"
"I........I...don' t know..."
"It's the only way, how much I hate it, it's the only way!"
"Oh...but..."
She stared at him.
"Ok." he said slowly, and wrote down two names, Hercules and Gamecube.
"Thank you!" she said, then she went away.
Father Nikolai looked after her. Then it hit him. This woman, she couldn't have been miss Snowflake, could she? Shbe looked exactly like her, but the behaviour and.....something else, made him wonder. He opened the book he had been brought earlier in the evening, and searched for 'vampires'. He found it. Then he looked at it, shocked to the botton of his soul.
'Vampires is known to often hide their real identity by two means in particular: By the form of a shadow, and by the form of other people. However, this is a difficult task, and a person meeting them, will often feel that something is wrong, without being able to point on what.'
Father Nikolai fell on his knees, desperately praying that he had not been fooled.Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10
