I was playing Morrorwind a few days ago. got my level 2 guy (girl that is) up to level 7.
for a while I was struggling in those dwarven ruins until I changed weapons.
I have always use best attack. but I'm finding comparing the weapons (I'm using short blades) to be difficult.
I was using a magical bound dagger, and it seemed better at first, but I was getting my ass kicked in the dwarven ruins (one of the early quests in the main quest). then I switched to a normal dagger (actually it was another type of short blade I cannot remember).
that point is moot I guess. I am now using this fireblade the one chick gives you to clear out the androno ancestral tomb (part of the main quest)

I actually fired up baldur's gate 2 the other day. but I quickly quit when I couldn't win this one battle
I started up an old save game of a druid I was working on. I was trying to play characters I don't play as much. but my party is weak without strong frontline fighters.
I have valgar, yoshimo, myself (druid avenger), viconia, jaheira, and jan.
I cannot beat the battle inside the planar sphere with trajanus and the other cowled wizard mage. those guys have horrid wilting, and power world kill not to mention countless summoning spells including nishruu. argh..

I've beaten Baldur's GAte 2 before . twice in fact. It's kind of one of those games I have no desire to play more than twice. And both times I had stronger parties. One I had Minsc as my main fighter. And the other I had Korgan.
Valgar just isn't strong enough.
sorry for the threadjack, back to Morrowind.

Okay, so I thought I'd check back in. I took some advice from this thread and just played the game the way I wanted too. I only boot it up once every few days, so I wait to see what kind of mood I'm in: sometimes I work on the main quest, sometimes I work on raising my status in House Hlaalu, and sometimes I just wander around, poking my nose into caves and mapping the terrain. It all works pretty well, allows me to have fun, and keeps withing the spirit of roleplay (especially since I'm a bard).
Except...
I'm probably about halfway through the main mission (I just found out I might be the Nevarine and was sent north to the Ashlander camp to learn more); I'm also probably about halfway through the Hlaalu quests; and I've only wandered around the SW quarter of the map (haven't been east of Vivic, only just went north of Ald Ruhn). The problem? I'm already level 30 and, as far as I can tell, invincible (as a bard!). I'm also rich as Croesus. Bit anti-climactic, really. Still, it's a gorgeous game."I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

I played Morrowind for the first time this weekend. I played 38 hours straight - no sleep. This game is evil. I must destroy it...
Rufus, I tend to play these games the same way you do - trying to look at and uncover everything.. I also spend way too much time bartering and trying to manage my encumbrance...
Alchemy is cool, but it gets very tiring after a while to keep making potions and gathering herbs.. I must have 100 potions in my inventory..
I have a level 5 Bard right now.. I have no idea how to cast spells or use enchanted items during combat. Can someone help?Last edited by Brundlefly; January 31, 2005, 11:36.

You can defeat everyone at level 20, but you can reach level 70+, whats the point of that? Actually you can probably defeat every enemy at level 8 with the right gear.
leveling is too easy, you can get all your skills up to 100 while just staying in and around Balmora. Of course doing that would be tedious and no fun at all, still it's possible.

as I mentioned in the old thread I bumped. I recently got the expansions.
though I haven't done any expansion stuff yet. . I do love the max sale button when bartering. Makes things very easier when bartering with the creeper.
I have a bad tendency to make my character too powerful. What do you expect when you have a system that encourages you to get the 5X multipliers for attributes. It's a failing of the system imho.
But I'm having fun doing the quests. Just finished a Hlaalu quest looking for a shipwreck near the azure's coast.
I'm level 31 now, and pretty much invincible . And I don't even do any enchanting or alchemy. I just use what weapons and equipment I find. I should enchant my daedric wakishashi, but I'm not sure how.
For the life of me I can't find a Mark spell!! anyone know where one is? I found a recall spell, but not mark. I have to rely on fast travel to get places. Makes questing take a little longer, oh well.
One thing about being level 31. I said I'm invincible, but this is not true. When I rest now, I have to face 2 assassins. They seem tougher than the one's earlier. The kill me everytime. One problem is I rest usually when my hitpoints are low, and I'm not in full hitpoints when I rest. I guess I'm going to have to start the expansion soon.
And where can I find henchman?
And I have both expansions. I picked up that one expansion is that island to the northwest. Where are the new areas for the other expansion?
